That's true of both parties, Democract lip service policies are just easier to give a little bit of.

Think about it:
Democrats make promises about equality and welfare. They can dish out a little equality, pass some affirmative action laws and pretend to be doing something about welfare but really just funnel the money to help their corporate owners.

Republicans make promises about persecuting gays/atheists/immigrants and jobs. They can try and persecute minorities but actual constitutional rights make it hard. And th1ey continue to ensure that industrial relations laws and tax relief help their corporate owners.

I think Democrats are definitely going to become even more progressive and socialist though. Bernie was the result of white Starbucks socialists getting impatient and wanting their dream socialist utopia NOW, but Democrats are definitely going to trend more and more leftward, I think they have to, after Obama.

On the other hand, the Republicans and the Paul Ryanites stay the same. Republicans and Democrats basically have no differences when it comes to social policies; they both want more immigrants, Republicans are desperate to prove that they're totally not the party of white people (even though Democrats peg them as such anyways), but will occassionally pass laws that make them easy targets for Democrats to ridicule them with.

For my opinion, I think Trump is a legitimate outsider, but one man and a handful of allies from the DoJ is not enough to cause policy reform much less start anything like a governmental coup. I've lost faith in electoral politics and am gearing up for street war.
