Not much to say. Basic German Flecktarn cold-dry weather parka, very well made, cut, good looking, and standard issue of the Bundeswehr and /k/.
Yours is an earlier one with the field dressing pocket on the right arm and front chest button provisions for the old box lantern that was also present on the older moleskin and wool uniforms of the West German Bundeswehr.
Most people also pick up the liner from the fleck Gore-Tex (technically Sympatex I believe) parka and wear that under the cold-dry parka, as it is also very well made and greatly improves the warmth of it.

Found some M05 Lithuanian for sale, thought I might write about what I've found out.

The M05 camouflage was introduced to the Lithuanian Army in the 2000s. Over the years, the uniform has been revised and several variants are known to exist, with different pocket locations and Velcro additions. Additionally, the shades and colors in the uniform can vary (sometimes significantly) depending on date of manufacture and the manufacturer.

I have been able to find two manufacturers that have manufactured the uniforms for the military. The first is LTI (Lithuanian Textile Institute), which appears to be either partially or fully state-run. The second manufacturer that has been contracted to make M05 uniforms is 'Eisiga', which some years ago had a contract cancelled and was forced to pay a fine for providing the Lithuanian Army with substandard uniforms. I am unsure if Eisiga has started producing uniforms for the Lithuanian Army again, but there is a good chance that they have. I have seen M05 pattern jackets made by 'Tuma', but I have only ever seen claims that Tuma is not a supplier to the military and is instead a manufacturer for the commercial market. Because of this, I cannot say with confidence that Tuma manufactures M05 for the Lithuanian Army (they did, however, make several uniforms for Iraqi forces). There may exist other manufacturers that I am unaware of, and I am currently trying to figure out more.

Fuck it, lads, I'm buying it. If it's too small I'll give it to my shorter younger sister or resell it.

It's not cheap, but the example I found is exactly what I want. Pants and field jacket match and have a dark green base (as opposed to the light green and medium shades that are sometimes found, the former of which looks funky). The winter jacket also uses a darker base.

Anyone have experience with M05 cuts? I bought Polish camo once and that shit runs huge.

New arrival, as seen temporarily on Jyn in Rouge One.
Ruck dated 1986, yoke/straps 1953, not sure if the M60 designation is incorrect or they were from an earlier ruck and converted to use on the M60.
Ever so slightly more capacity than the East German kampfrucksack, has an internal divider for a folded blanket/poncho/ground roll on the interior, drawstring main opening, and two smaller pouches. Yoke attaches via metal hooks and doubles as the suspenders for the combat webbing.

The normal band style ones were used by anyone that wasn't airborne. I'd put some gun oil, insect repellent, or Zippo in the band. Don't over-do it.

I created a helmet all by my self too, worked out great and was fun locating all the pieces.

DO NOT PUT THE HELMET COVER IN THE WASHING MACHINE. I bought my mint chinstrap, headband, and nape strap from Moore militaria. I bought the "post war" and he still gave me 1969 dated stuff, so bear that in mind to save a few bucks.
>>
>>34078941
Yeah, the cove is dated 1970, so i think the 72-74 liner Jmurray has available would be okay. Not sure though, I do want a liner around the same year as the cover. Even if find a liner cheaper on ebay, i will ask the seller if they can find what year the liner was made if not shown in the picture
>>34079038
I would never put it through the washing machine. I might go with the gun oil and Zippo though. I think the slim zippos were used in nam so I might buy me one of those. Jmurray has a lot of cool helmet stuff now. I bought my ww2 liner from him along with the restoration stuff for the helmet i made for Sully

I think only late 70's and early 80's helmet liners actually have a date in them. For earlier liners you kinda have to do some research on what kind was used when.

Found this for 50 shipped, Liner is dated 1968 which is perfect for the cover I got despite being from 1970. there is a small dent on the top so I know there's a way to get rid of that dent plus I'm thinking of restoring it to a vietnam helmet finish. I know i will need sand and I don't think a ww2 Khaki shade would be right. Should I restore the shell or keep it as it is and at least bang out the dent?

>Should I restore the shell or keep it as it is and at least bang out the dent?
Yeah, banging out the dent shouldn't be too much on the helmet. Honestly though, you probably shouldn't try to "restore" it unless it's super fucking rusted. Also regarding Vietnam era helmet finish the color, from what I've found out is that helmets manufactured from 1968 and on were a "Munsell 10Y 3/3" color. But it is worth noting that helmets from previous eras were used in Vietnam with little done to them at all and unless the pot you bought is specifically an Ingersoll, Parish Division of Dana Corp, or an RJ Stampings helmet then the 1968 color finish would be incorrect.

>>34105154
From this pic it kinda looks like those chinstrap clips have green paint on them, and if they were originally only painted green and are also original to the pot then that actually dates the it to the Korean war era, though it's almost universally agreed on that those didn't see use in the Korean war due to earlier stock but were still manufactured during that time.
>>
>>34105311
Alright man, well when i do get it in the mail, i will look closely at the chinstrap , I will bang that dent though and keep the helmet is it is. I don't want to remove the chinstraps so Im gonna try to fix that bent one up.

Nein, I'm in Birmingham. I was up at Media City for some filming recently though and your tram is a hundred times better in every way. I've had the argument before with that guy that I won't respect a religion and the culture based around it when they are actively hostile towards me and people like me in general.

Seems a shame to denounce any culture based on the act of individuals. I don't know which religion you're referring to but I'm sure what it has contributed in regards to philosophy and the arts alone demands at least some respect.

That's right, you tell them. Ignore all of the literal murder encouraged in the Quran and the child rape endorsed by their prophet, those are all just right-wing conspiracies.
>>
>>34119434
Not that guy, Alp, but reformed Muslims are no different than anyone else.
>>
>>34119304
Firstly, you know exactly which religion I'm referring to. Secondly, whilst I don't automatically hate individuals I meet personally, I'm perfectly within my right to judge a culture by the people it produces; the situation of states or countries run under it and the way they conduct themselves as a whole. Islam and the Arabic world hasn't moved on since it's heyday and is in direct opposition to the progress being made elsewhere in the world. It may have birthed mathematics, but whitey took it to the moon.
>>
>>34119434

"You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit. Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them. . . . The Lord will afflict your knees and legs with painful boils that cannot be cured, spreading from the soles of your feet to the top of your head." Deuteronomy 28:30-31,35

"Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves." Numbers 31:17-18

I think the term is Historical Context.
>>
>>34119466
There is a marked difference between christianity plus the literal interpretation of the bible (on the wane and in the minority respectively) and Islam and the Quran, where the impression is it is taken to a dangerously serious level. For example the prevalence of Female Genital Mutilation in majority Muslims countries and the rapid tailing of of the practice even in African countries where Christianity is taken VERY seriously.
>>
>>34119465
I'm just saying, as someone who actually took the time to read The Bible (albeit King James), The Quran and the Tripitaka in full, I think you need to cancel you subscription to The Sun.
>>
>>34119529
Oh okay so it's not the scripture itself you hate or blame but just how it is interpreted by citizens of low wealth, poor education and corrupt law nations.
>>
>>34119557
>i-it's not their fault or their backwards teachings, they're just oppressed :(
>>
>>34119572
How stupid am I right, next I'll be saying theres some sort of connection between violence and areas of poverty within the USA.
Don't listen to me man, years of studying Socio-Political diversity has taught me absolutely nothing on this subject.
>>
>>34119604
>years of studying Socio-Political diversity
And what are you doing with those thousands of dollars you spent? Whining about how brown people have no agency and nothing is their fault on a mongolian clay pottery forum.
>>
>>34119445
I agree with you there. That's why Islamic terror attacks in America are less common. Unfortunately, world wide, most of them are not reformed.

>>34119466
>Historical Context
Why not just context? That second quote is literally talking about a war.
>>
>>34119620
>>34119620
>Thousands
>Dollars

You come across as an outside-the-box thinker and I like that. I respect your ability to convincingly retort without addressing key points and aspire to reach your level of higher level of thinking.

>>34119645
Historical context refers to the moods, attitudes, and conditions that existed during a certain time. Context is the "setting" for an event that occurs, and the elements, conditions, and characteristics of this specific time will have an impact on the relevance of the event.
>>
>>34119466
Also, if you're going to quote something, do it right. That second quote is riddled with your own words to make it fit your narrative.
>>
>>34119534
If your conclusion was anything other than "They're all equally worthless in the modern day that was progressed past the need for them as social insititutions" I will be very disappointed. I'm not familiar with Buddhism except in passing, but I'll put money there's no allowance for alternative lifestyles under it either.

>>34119557
Funny how they seem to go hand in hand though, much the same as in ardently Catholic southern american countries. Chicken and Egg.
>>
>>34119675
The implication is you're either a yurofag or didn't actually go to school for any of this. Either way you don't help yourself with that response, you just come off as an insufferable cunt. And you're one to talk, you ignored my point that all you're doing is virtue signalling to jack off your ego.

And you bring up the OT as a "gotcha" to show the Bible has things just as bad as the Quaran, but the difference is even hardcore fundamentalist Christians won't execute someone for wearing garments of two different kinds of fabric.

Plus the whole bit about Jesus forming a New Covenant and pretty much nullifying all those old laws, but you know, that doesn't matter if you can make Christianity look bad.
>>
>>34110402
I'm lucky if I can find a beat up ACU top at thrift stores, and I go to tons of them.
>>
>>34119690
You were right about my conclusion to a degree, I'm a sucker for art and poetry though so its one of my finer experiences. If it helps in your understanding of my personal stance on world religions, I prefer the term ancient scripture rather than holy books etc. However, I'm also proud we live in an era of self-realisation (Thanks Hegel) and so have no intention of treading on anyones faith.

I'm reading your second point as the exact one I was trying to make so not sure what you were expecting me to say?
>>
>>34119712
Your final point is really an excellent example of Historical Context, assuming you're booked up on the various publications of the Bible over time.

Your second comment would have got me if you had been able to convincingly dispute my earlier point regarding violence in low-wealth areas which Telny seems to have grasped and I'm sure you will one day, visit a prison and do a headcount of well-educated middle class people.

First point seems like tiresome American brash but sure, I'll bite. Posting on an Anonymous messaging board seems a bad way to stroke my own ego.
>>
>>34119740
I didn't realise you were being serious.

I take a stick to Islam because these attacks are real. They're happening now. If tomorrow I was at risk of a fundamental christian shooting up the Bullring then I would have the same attitude towards that.

Speaking of which, I don't know how you feel about it Trench but Far Cry 5 has me rock hard. it's like my ultimate /k/ fantasy: the game.
>>
>>34119847
So had this been 30 years ago you would 'taking a stick' to Catholicism because of the IRA?
>>
>>34119892
That would be an accurate statement.
>>
>>34119912
That's a fair position to take I suppose, you can't help but be swayed by your own fears.
You don't seem to fear Catholicism now though, despite >>34046416, maybe in 30 years time you can denounce a new international culture.
>>
>>34119970
I don't, I can't think of a single place I could go in England, Scotland or Wales I could go that I would suffer an attack off the back of Catholicism. The Irish have stopped bringing it here and I have the good sense not to take what I do there. I wouldn't have to be on this reactionary carousel if they would all just bugger off.
>>
>>34120028
In 30 years time though, who knows right?

I also hope you don't think I'm against 'what you do', if anything I hope you could tell that from what I've been saying that this is not the case.

I've lurked in these threads for some time, You would love some of the textile work I do, and assumed you had at least some knowledge regarding contemporary history and appreciate the active and reactive nature of what has resulted in these current day issues with terrorism.

Good chat boys, I'll introduce myself as that 'insufferable cunt' next time I post in these threads.

>>34120142
I don't really like any of them as I'm not a big fan of digital patterns (barring a few that I really like). If I had to pick, probably MARPAT as I live in southern California. Also, ACU is a cut, not a pattern. The pattern is UCP.

>>34120169
I'm hoping they go down the 'Individual freedom vs Any collective group seeking to impose upon others' route. That's the line of reason that stops me supporting the whole SJW movement in any way.

>>34120142
I'd go with MARPAT as well, in terms of effectiveness.

>Numbers 31:17-18

biblegateway quotes as follows:
"Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."
>>
>>34120356
Here's what I got from Bible Gateway. Only a few words are different but the differences in your source put a more negative connotation into the sentiment than mine.
17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

"Kill all the boys" could be seen as a call to kill all males, or to kill male children. "Kill every male among the little ones" is literally "kill all male children."

"spare for yourselves" sounds a little more rapey to me than "save for yourselves."

It's all semantics (and a bit of projection, admittedly), really.
>>
>>34120356
Jesus, I guess it just depends on the version. My quote is from the "New International Version."
