I know you just bought it, but do you know if the Scorpion has heat dissipation issues like the 805 does? This is pretty much the sole reason why I won't buy the S1 pistol. I want to be able to put fucking something near the front of the gun to keep my hand from turning into charred meat after two mags.

You are always going to get that, but there is very seriously a clear dividing line between someone who is just prudent with how they spend their funds on funs, and full retard goys. Not everyone wants to play Keeping Up With The Jones' all because some dude on 4chan tried to tell you why you should also buy these three other guns that cost three times as much, and offer minimal difference in performance, or are purely meant to be acquired for meme purposes.

The grip is garbage, as is the selector design. Luckily, there's quite a few aftermarket options for both.

>>34030513
I haven't had any heat dissipation issues with my carbine, but I'm also running the faux can model. If you have the pistol, there's a barrel cooling sleeve that CZ makes that can be installed should you find it to be a problem.

As a side note, I do think the big appeal to the Scorpion, price aside, is the sheer amount of aftermarket support for it. The only PCCs I can think of with similar support are AR9s, MP5s, and the MPX (kinda), and all of them but the AR9 are almost double the price of a Scorpion pistol.

I've got big time APC9 lust now, but I'm gonna SBR this fucker first before I go chasing another PCC.

The AR charging handle on the mpx causes it to leak gas out its ass. The evo is sealed in the back and therefore a superior charging handle, ambidextrous controls and is developing a healthy aftermarket.

It's not just cheaper than its biggest competitor; it's better.

>Buying turkshit

It's like you want to give money to the roaches who fund ISIS and allow rapefugees to pass through into Europe.

I've always wanted an mp5 but as we all know pistol caliber carbines are useless for civilian purposes. Handguns are just too versatile, handle well, and shoot pistol rounds just fine. Still, the mp5 gives me a raging boner. So what did I do? Bought me a gsg-5 in .22. It's as accurate as a 10/22, as light as a Henry ar7, and awesome. It covers the role of accurate survival rifle and cheap tacticool plinkster quite well.
>>
>>34030363

> check out this thing costing 3 times what a scorpion goes for, it's totally higher quality

No fucking shit, but if you're spending 2k on a 9mm """pistol""" or carbine it better be an mp5 of some flavor. The scorpion is the only sub 1k entry in the market that isn't an AR, keltec, hipoint, or Beretta storm. For some reason we allow 9mm carbine makers to charge us out the ass. It's still the superior gun to the MPS.

No, the threads are on the muzzle end under the can "shell." It's on there really fucking tight so I haven't bothered to remove it at all, but I know you can just thread it off on some examples and swap it out for whatever 1/2x28 muzzle device you want. That said, if you want to go that route, just get the muzzle brake version.

>>34033262
I don't know if I'd call the Scorpion charging handle "superior." From a suppressor use standpoint, sure, but on the pistol models the handle is sufficiently small that a lot of people complain about it turning the picatinny side rails into knuckle grinders (the carbine is M-LOK and thus doesn't have that problem). Thankfully, you only really need to use it on your first mag since the Scorpion has an AR-style BHO and release, and there's a ton of aftermarket options for that particular part. I've got an enlarged polymer one from HBI showing up today.

>>34033486

I can't tell you if it's worth it to you since our cost/benefit curves are most likely drastically different. But from a collector's perspective, paying 3k+ for a VERY well made MP5k-n clone, or even an SD, is definitely worth it.

They're rare and they'll probably always be expensive.

In another federal case, US v. Fix (UNITED STATES of America, Plaintiff-Appellee, v. Lawrence Christopher FIX, Defendant-Appellant. No.00-10789. August 29, 2001),[6] the 5th Circuit Federal Appeals Court countered BATFE. Originally, in the trial case, Fix was convicted under 26 U.S.C. § 5861(d) of possession of an unregistered NFA firearm found during a search of his home and business as a weapon that required NFA registration. In US v. Fix, he appealed and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reviewed the trial case. The 5th Circuit noted that Fix was a defendant who was found to be in possession of a handgun/pistol that had a second pistol/foregrip attached. On appeal, Fix argued that the Government/BATFE did not prove the handgun/pistol with a second pistol grip added was an unregistered NFA firearm. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals presided and found in a related provision that a GCA "firearm" is defined by a list of eight weapons and a catchall provision of "any other weapon." See 26 U.S.C. §5845(a). "Any other weapon" includes "any weapon or device capable of being concealed on the person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive," but not "a pistol . . . having a rifled bore . . ." See 26 U.S.C. § 845(e). Weapons not included in the definition of firearm in § 5845 need not be registered under § 5861(d). Fix argues that his firearm was a pistol, not an NFA AOW that met the exception in §5845(e), and, therefore, did not need to be registered under §5861. The 5th Federal Circuit Court of Appeals found that the Government/BATFE failed to prove a violation of §5861(d) for two reasons. First, the weapon did not fit the definition required by the statute in the NFA. The provision defining "pistol" for the purposes of the statute is 27 C.F.R. §179.11, which defines a pistol as "a weapon originally designed, made, and intended to fire a projectile (bullet) from one or more barrels when held in one hand..."

>>
>>34039978
Honestly, at the price some of the clones go for, you may as well just buy an actual HK, assuming you're ok with a K-length. Actual SP5Ks are in the $2200-2500 range last I checked.
>>
>>34040022
>SP5K
you don't want that. Modification to a real MP5 with that is very difficult.
>>
>>34039990
In the last sentence it gives the definition of pistol as being originally designed to be held in one hand. Attach a vfg and it's no longer designed to be used in one hand. How could it not be an AOW? The ATF has consistently held that attaching a vertical foregrip to a pistol constitutes constructing an AOW.
>>
>>34040046
>originally designed
Attaching an accessory is not necessarily re-designing.

In any case, they can "maintain" that all they fucking want, but at the end of the day if they arrest you for it, it goes to the judge, and there's precedent that both the law and the associated ruling are too vague to actually bring against someone.
>>
>>34040069
By that same logic, you could argue that attaching a stock to a pistol does not create a SBR.
>>
>>34040069
do you own any dogs anon
>>
>>34038920
