/k/ Rifle fag here. With basic care and recoil spring changes which pistol will most likely give me the highest round count before breaking?
>>
>>34027559
Probably a Glock or 1911.
>>
mk23
>>
>>34027559
Glock 17 or manhurin mr73
>>

USP9
>>

I've heard the gen 4 glocks have a thinner frame around the muzzle. Is this true?

Would a gen 3 likely have a longer lifespan?
>>
A Ruger GP100 firing .38 Specials.

Glock in 9mm (round it was designed for)
>>
>>34027784
Never had a block so can't answer this but the Beretta 92 is supposed to have a very long lifespan
>>
>>34027575
>>34027652
>>34027812

Gen 3 or Gen 4?

Does the dual recoil absorb some of the shock from the frame?
>>
>>34027807
>Not a gp100 firing 22lr
>>
>>34027829
Gen 3 i'd say but I'm no expert. Just the gen 4s seemed to have a couple issues
>>
>>34027829
None. Get your self an old military surplus gun. Those things will last for 100,000 of rounds
>>
>>34027829
glock in 9mm.

Don't own striker fired pistols, but a fanboy here should know whether gen 3 or gen 4 will last longer
>>
>>34027878
Wrong. This is the worst advice on here so far
>>
>>34027878
This
>>34027954
pussy
>>
>>34027878
A military surplus gun might have thousands and thousands of rounds through it.

You have no idea about how long it's been shot

Only acceptable answer
>>
Unless you can get a glock gen 2 forget about it.

1911
>>
You will literally never shoot it enough for this to matter.
>>
Anything Walther should last a lifetime

Glock had a stroke in 2008 so didn't have any oversight of the gen 4. I don't trust them
>>
>>34028183
This. Unissued guns can still be had.

>>34027559

H&K USP
>>
>>34027559
USP or Glocks probably. USPs are over engineered(like everything German) and feel like tanks

It's 13 pages of reading, but very worth the time, fascinating stuff.

Pic unrelated

Handheld modern steel barrel black powder cannon.

A Korth, a Medusa revolver, a Manurhin MR73, or an HK Mk23
>>
>>34027559
How fucking much do you plan on shooting the thing?

Thank you for this. Looks like a good read
>>
>>34030516
13 pages to go through but already concerned about the gen 4 breaking around the frame.

Maybe there is something to the gen 4's being thinner
>>
>>34027738
Came here to say this.

The MK23, and USP 45/40 would be next.

The 9mm is massively overbuilt.
>>
>>34027807
Holy poo, this would last forever. 1,000,000 rounds easily
>>
>>34027559

Why is that ported AND have a compensator?
>>
>>34027807
this.

You'd wear out the rifling before anything needed maintenance.
>>
>>34027559
A revolver. Forget the pistol scene. And definitely ignore the fanboys. Any Ruger or Smith and Wesson magnum revolver would last many lifetimes and be a true hand down heirloom.
>>
>>34027559

The best bet would be good quality all-steel .22 LR pistol (Ruger Mk I/II/III, Browning Buck Mark, Colt Targetsman, early High Standard, FN 150 etc). Regardless of how much they are shot, they seem easily capable of surviving several generations of shooters and millions of rounds.
>>
HK MK23, HK45, HK45C, USP9, USP40, USP45. In that order.
>>
>>34027559
CZ99, anecdotal 200K+ exist in a couple of shooting ranges.

There's shooters like Tim Herron and Ben Stoeger that easily have +100,000 rounds through an individual gun.

>>
>>34027559
Manhurin mr73 in .38 special, if you fired it 24/7, only stopping to eat, you'd die of old age before you broke the gun. This is tested in fucking .357 +p
>>
>>34027559

forget all other posts

ruger sr22 will last forever, ie. 50,000 rds

/thread
>>
>>34030457
Please where. Ive always wanted a new makarov, which is hard to find and apparently not quality, so unissued surplus is probably the way to go.
>>
>>34027559
MK23 is the only suitable answer.
>>
>>34030822
I went through that ar15.com thread and looks like they cracked because they were consistently the most rented and shot pistols in that range (Battlefield Las Vegas).

More or less than 100 000 rounds were put through them in just a couple of years during their service as rental guns. Plus, the guns kept on working but they pulled them due to liability issues.

I think that's just fucking impressive.
>>
>>34027559
>which pistol will most likely give me the highest round count before breaking?

lower gas pressures and soft lead rounds make the gun last longer

so .22 revolver or .22 ruger target pistol
if ok with replacing a spring then hipoint
some cowboy pistols last forever but for one spring in the trigger and the barrel cuz corrosive black powder
>>
>>34027559
10/22 charger if """pistols""" count.
>>
>>34031511
Hk45 before USP45

Nope sorry faggot, your plastic buffer is only a meme
