You look like you're doing a good job keeping that pistol away from hard use. This is one of the safest ways to treat an FN pistol. But remember! Even if you don't shoot it at all, it's important to take it to a yearly inspection to ensure that the polymer hasn't degraded during that time.

>>34023139
CZ gets ahead for everything other than durability. HK undeniably has the longest service life in pistols. CZ still beats out all the other brands below Sig.
>>
>>34023162
I'll give you that, I'd rather have a CZ than anything but an hk as far as it comes to current production guns, except maybe a hi power, but I'm pretty sure the CZ is more durable than the browning.
>>
>>34023126
>implying

CZ products are consumer-grade rather than military grade. There is a reason why no first world military issues their troops CZs as a first-line firearm.

While old Sig Sauer deserves its place on your list, new Sig Sauer =/= old Sig Sauer.

Walther is currently owned by a literal airsoft company.

FN is too low, and I say this as someone who thinks most of their products--especially their pistols--are overrated. The fact that they hold the primary contract for the M4 alone should put them in mid-tier rather than low-tier.

Also, why is Beretta not on this list? They belong in mid-tier at least. Their rifles suck, but their pistols and shotguns are both great.
>>
>>34023102
>he's never seen legalese CYA
>>
>>34023198
Eh, forgot about Beretta. They're good quality, just not my style. Nothing special, but not bad either.

CZ products now may be "consumer grade," but their designs are still top notch. Even so, their quality is still much higher than some other brands like Glock.

Walther's designs are still good. The Q5 is excellent and the PPQ is always great. Just a shame that they went so downhill so quickly.

FN is entirely overrated. They do have good quality products, but their designs are by-and-large novelties. Novelties that I am not ashamed to admit, I really want. Just not willing to shell out the kind of cash they expect for all polymer and rubber guns. The FNX/S handguns should cost less than Glocks.

>not owning a CZ (Zastava)

>>34023139
Have you ever owned a cz? My 1995 75 with like 25k rounds through it still has the original stop and runs like a goddamn champ

On what basis are you making this assertion? Nothing I have seen supports it, and what evidence I have seen directly contradicts it. See pic.

I agree 100% on this point.

25k rounds isnt that much. going by what the battlefield vegas guy says it seems like the average beretta m9 and glock 17 can do around 100k rounds on average before the slide breaks. if you dont count broken recoil springs the sig p226 can do around 150k or more before the frame starts to crack. he said they dont have any cz75s tho

There's a big difference between breaking slides and frames and breaking slide stops.

Yes, slide stops are the weak point of the CZ-75 and BHP - especially on heavily sprung guns or ones with exceptionally heavy slides for whatever reason.
They still last tens of thousands of rounds, though, and cost $30 to replace.

If a CZ is breaking slide stops more often than tens of thousands of rounds down the pipe, it needs warranty work because the locking lugs on the barrel are probably not fully engaging the grooves in the slide. This is rare and obviously abnormal - though it should also be testament to the strength of the design that the slide stop can tolerate that kind of beating for any amount of time, considering that in a properly working gun, the biggest stress on it should be taking the force of the slide springing back forward.

This is completely anecdotal, but the owner of my LGS carries an old CZ75 (pre-b, long rail) SAO that has 75k rounds through it.

He claims he has broken 2 slide stops in near 30 years of shooting it, and has replaced the springs a half dozen times.

The gun has near no finish, but i've seen him shoot it, and it is still accurate on the original barrel, and seems to be chugging along fine.
