While I don't think it's odd, I'd like to see more straight pull carbines (16" barrels or shorter preferably) with old military style stocks and bayonet lugs and the ability to take stripper clips, but in easy to find intermediate calibers (5.56, 7.62x39, 5.45x39, the works)

I'd also like to see a larger market for pistols around the same size as the Makarov.
Single stack somewhat compact 9mm handguns, but large enough that they'd do just fine as a service handgun.
Sleeker, handier, easily concealable but still large enough to fill your hand.
I honestly think that making them thinner would help this immensely.

I also think that the P90 mag style could be taken so much further.
Shotguns (been done before) handguns, carbines (think PPSh or M1 carbine)

I'd also like to see a market for fund that come mostly assembled (think the ARs that have no stock or handguard but more models and simpler to make shit for) to help budding inventors.
I honestly want a fairly okay handgun that works (if being a little shitty) for $100 a piece that I can experiment with different mechanisms with and not feel guilty (no, a hi point wouldn't work)

All the old single shot actions don't get enough love. I wish I could actually get a rifle with one of the old style actions without having to pay through the nose for it. I'd also love a reproduction of the Krag-Petersson rifle.

I really like 80s/90s style guns, where "tactical" was in its infancy. Everything was made of the cheapest plastic, the furniture started turning black, lots of tubular shapes, quirky designs, heavy and inefficient design choices.
Shit like the MP5. Bigass handguard and barrel for a really small receiver assembly. It looks like a 8" long 3" thick cock with 1/2" balls. The charging handle was fun to play with, the magazines really looked silly, the sights sucked ass, but it just looks awesome regardless.
Then the SPAS-12. Huge-ass heat shield that probably weighs half the original gun's weight. Again weird tubular shapes, followed by angles. Black/grey colors, cheap metal stock, crude stock, but a really interesting and innovative design with the dual-modes.
And who doesn't love the Tec-9? Cheaply made, terribly unreliable, got the weird tubular shapes again, black polymer with grey metal, oversized, but so easy to piss off the ATF by converting to full auto, large magazine cap, oversized "pistol."

I dunno, I just love the style.
