Anybody have any real close calls while handling weapons?
I got a good one:
>be me and best bro drinking at his place
>tell him about that 21 foot rule between gun and knife fight
>decide to test it out
>pull pistol out, unload it and have my bro safety check it
>start from real close distance using a small stick in lieu of knife
>shit is real, get stabbed every teim
>around 20 feet it gets real close, get stabbed but at least getting a round off
>we switch sides, with very similar results
>finally finish out testing, put magazine back in gun
>for whatever reason, I don't chamber it even though I carry with it fully loaded
>[couple of beers later]
>decide to pull out my pistol and shoot at my bro at point blank range to surprise him
>*click*
>realize what I've done
>holy shit! Almost shot my best bro by just fucking around
>feel fucking horrible since I'm usually the hard ass on gun safety
>bro reassures me that I knew the gun was not loaded fully since I didn't rack the slide and having that register in my mind made me do what I did
>continue to drink with bro, every now and then start to trip about it but he laughs about it
Anybody know these feels? Haven't done shit like that since. Got lucky once and I'm never gonna press my luck ever again.
To think, one additional step in me loading it and there might have been a possibility of me really shooting my bro.

>guy sitting at other table asks if i want to know how to use brass knuckles in a fight
>"ok"
>he says put them on
>"ok"
>he points a handgun at me and pulls the trigger
>he and his buddy laugh
>"yep thats about how you use those things in a fight"
>walk away
i mean seriously fuck that guy
>tfw you always read these threads so you can learn new ways to not fuckup

>haha, surprise, I shot you
>wow you should have seen the look on your face when you thought your friend was going to splatter your brain across the wall
>haha

>got shitty $150 charles daly pump shotgun
>shooting at cinderblocks cuz fuck else to shoot at
>pumping and firing as fast as i can
>cinderblock is no longer is only stone now
>neighbor comes over day later
>fuckin BBs ricocheted and took out his camper tire and left a bunch of tiny little holes in the side

a long time ago my 1st gun was a beretta model 70 22lr
after shooting it for awhile i got careless and dropped it once between my legs at the range, yes it was loaded, but (whew) at least in this time line it did not go off
i can't remember if the hammer was back or not, probably not or for sure it would have gone off
since then i've been pretty paranoid about gun safety, especially after a few more range incidents from clowns not knowing what they are doing
oh well

>be me
>decide it's been a while (like 5-ishh years) since ive even opened up the dust cover on my ak to even look inside of it
> see that its has a thick layer of black crud built up inside the reciever
>go outside, and field strip the ak
>lay everything down on the grass and pull out garden hose
>wash out crud with garden hose and old toothbrush
>wipe it dry with rag, and go inside
>start putting it back together, finish putting it back together
>insert mag, rack the charging handle *click, take out mag
>rack handle 2 times
>round flies out of chamber
>mfw i almost ND'd into my bedroom wall and into my neighbors house where his kids were playing outside with their had it of not been for the shitty tulammo primers

Closest was just:
>Helping step-aunt move. Great lady, served in Iraq and is a therapist for vets.
>Step-father is good guy but generally anti-gun and a judge
>Before we go out to dinner aunt shows me the revolver she has for safety. Does the proper unload it
>Step-father is like a wide eyed kid in a candy store "Lemme see lemme see"
>Holds it
>No trigger discipline
>Barrel casually pointed my way (not at me, just no barrel discipline)
>Step aunt and my reaction

Not bait, it's a true story. I don't get what the bait portion would be...
>>34016698
Same. I always pick up lil tidbits on how carelessness can get you into shit that only pure dumb luck prevents.
>>34016761
Bullshit. I have been hit by
buck and field loads that bounced back and have never even had them do more than break the skin.
