Import restrictions.
The reason most soviet surplus is gone.
They still have heaping heavenly fuck loads of it over there.
Just cant get it here. Thank your politicians.
>>34011034
50 to 60 cents a round for a big ole full power rifle cartridge isn't bad. Plus, at least it can still be found literally anywhere.
>>34011049
wrong on all counts.
>>34011034
Import restrictions and also restrictions from the Un on arms dealing.
Also ammo could be a lot cheaper if we could import from China and I we could import "AP" ammo.
>>34011060
I remember when 7.62x25 was cheaper than .22lr motherfucker.
>>34011066
But im not tho.
>mfw have owned my nugget for around 3 years and have put maybe 200 rounds through it. Haven't shot it in about 2.
I'm sitting on 2 and a half spam cans of surplus I'll probably never get through.
>>34011049
Didn't a lot of it go kaboom in the numerous ammo depot explosions in Ukraine?
>>34011079
post the recent legislation (from within the past 2 years) that has stopped the importation of 7.62x54r.
>>34011117
Think so...and that was 1 of the tricks they were pulling was to take russian x54r and put it in ukraine for a while.
>>34011121
Am I talking about ONLY x54r?
We havent been able to import x54r from russian for a long time to my knowledge we were getting most of it from ukraine and bulgaria right?
Clinton era law. russia got to export new stuff in exchange for banning the old stuff.
ukraine war sucked up all the ukraine surplus we were getting.
we could technically import stuff to canada. have it sit for 5 years and then import it to the USA as Canadian firearms and ammo. though it would probably make it too expensive.
russia wants too much for their surplus. especially all the captured german stuff they still have.
ATF would mandate manual external safeties onto all the tokraves. would probably 922r fuckery some of the other stuff too.
>>34011145
Most was coming from Ukraine, but there are ZERO restrictions for 54r steel core surplus to be imported.
the reason its gone is there is non left to be imported, with all the unrest in the Middle East, and Middle East countries paying as high as 70 cents a round for it (as stated by Importer bowman arms) I wonder who they will sell It too.
>>34011149
>Clinton era law. russia got to export new stuff in exchange for banning the old stuff.
Strange, so the tens of millions of rounds of 54r surplus imported must have never really existed!
>>34011184
When did I say anything about steel core?
>>34011194
Ukraine.

your first dead wrong post.
>>34011034

Leftists.
That is what they do. They preach and import Marxist teachings and ideologies at universities and the media, but they will do their best to prevent you from enjoying cheap slav ammo and surplus from former soviet countries.

What happened?
Exactly what everyone said would happen. The mosin was a good rifle while the surplus was cheap, but now ammo cost is going up after the surplus drought, you're left with nothing but a shitty soviet rifle.
When the FBI switch to 9mm I said there's going to be a huge lots of used .40s showing up in gun stores, from people switching to 9mm. I have a feeling a lot a mosins will start popping up when ammo really dries up, and they will be even cheaper than they were originally bought for.
>>34013188
chekd and will a sudden surplus of rifles have any effect on ammo? I assume not but I guess that depends on if people buy the rifles to begin with.
>>34013188
Yeah just like the M95 or the K31. Those have only gotten cheaper since surplus ammo has dried up haven't they?
>>34013199
Those rifle are actually well made, and there are no where near the numbers made of the mosin. Every fudd has a mosin, most people bought more than one, they were so cheap, increasing the possibility they might sell some off if ammo prices go up.
>>34011034
Everyone said I was crazy when I first said it, but we really are in the end of days of Surplus guns and surplus in general.
militaries sell off their extra or old shit to other militaries or destroy it now.
Ian has talked about it recently and yeah, we'll never see FAMAS or Enfield parts kits or complete rifles due to France and Britain being anti gun and our import restrictions being so tight.
Even if machine guns were made legal again or at least reopen the registry and have them as NFA items, this would not change the fact that we'll never get modern assault rifles from other countries.
WW2 and Korea is the last bit of bolt action and semi auto arms that we can possibly import.
everything is always gobernments fault b sure to email your representatives /b/ros

15 burgerbux for 20 rounds of good soft point ammo ain't bad at all. It's what I took my deer with last year.
