What are your thoughts /k/ on the SIG MCX? If you think it's a bad idea what other type of semi automatic carbine should I consider? I will be using this for mainly hog hunting, recreational shooting and home self defense.

It's a cool gun, and it will do everything you want it to do, it just doesn't have the aftermarket support benefit of being as cheap as many AR15's

That said I like mine, and I'm excited for the geiselle MCX trigger to drop.

I will buy one the second sig gets their head out of their ass and offers an mlok rail standard.

It's a good gun, but the advantage is truly in .300 as an SBR. I own one in 5.56 and it is very nice, I don't think you would regret the purchase.

Literally just pop out the front pin and replace the hand guard when they come out with mlok.

But then you would have an inferior handguard laying around. You would also have to deal with it until that happens, if it even does.
>>
>should I buy this thing that does the same stuff as an AR but costs 4x as much?
No.

It makes bullets go.
>>
>>34011462
Where the fuck are you seeing $400 ARs?
>>
>>34011474
He's comparing it to a DPMS oracle, the pinnacle of ar15 design
>>
>>34011474
It was a bit of hyperbole. In all seriousness though I do not see the point in buying a weapon that has the same exact ergonomics as an AR, but is much more expensive. It seems like a huge waste of money to me.
If you really want an MCX for whatever reason and you have the cash to blow, then go right ahead.

>lack of buffer tube
lack of stoner DI

gain true folding stock capability
redirects cleaning focus, arguably easier to suppress

Great for killing faggots.
