PGO shotguns all suck. All of them. No exceptions.

It's a fun toy but for HD either get a regular 500 (590, whatever, just be sure it has a stock) or better still an intermediate caliber semi-auto rifle.

I have been thinking of getting one, seems like a fun toy and a great truck gun.

TLDR: No. It is usable, but it is not ideal. A shotgun that has a stock is going to be easier to use and more capable in any real world situation that requires you to use a shotgun.

More of a meme. InRange had a good video on it. Im sure with practice it could be useful but its nothing more as something to get oohhhhhh and ahhhhs at the range. Im sure its not really fun to shoot with defensive loads as well.

The grip angle on the Shockwave makes a huge difference. I wish they had included it in their test. The double barrel would still win likely, but the Shockwave would be a closer second.

It points much better, and recoil is way more manageable. I built my pgo like a month before they released the shockwave. That grip transformed the gun from "cool but painful" to "I have to ration my shells or I'll shoot all day"

There is no reason whatsoever to not have a stock on a shotgun in the wonderful time we live in. There are both collapsible and folding stocks that don't suck ass and instantly make your shotgun an actual viable self defence gun instead of a fucking meme.

Solution is obvious. Buy shockwave, attach ar15 stock adapter, side folding unit and sig Sbx on the back. Throw on a recoil reducing grip like the scorpion for good measure. Add opsol mini clip to increase mag capacity and reduce recoil by cycling mini shells. Put a railing top and a see all open sight on top and I think you've got something there.

Sbx won't turn it into an Sbs since it's not a butt stock but it is okay to shoulder now per ATF. Since it is over 26 inches unfolded it's also not an aow. Enjoy your basically a butt stock but not really.

That loadout would be pretty decent for urban sniping if someone stumbles onto your vantage point, but you'd at least want a silenced Glock 43 for sneaking from point to point. The shotgun would draw a lot of attention.
