It's a casual measuring system based on things that are intuitive to everyday people, and being based on 12s instead of 10s means it can be easily divided into thirds, quarters, etc.

We use Metric for pretty much anything technical or official except for flying (where kts, ft, and nmi are international standards) and machining. (Because most is still done on WWII-era machines that work in imperial/standard.)

In 2001 China didn't even have proper boots for their soldiers.

In 2017, Chinese pilots already fly 260 hours a year and conduct Red Flag request combat training.

16 years is a lot of time. Especially for Chinese military developments.
>>
>>34006402
Not really, the PLAN doesn't have as many fighters as the PLAAF.

>>34006418
They don't receive 260 a year for every pilot, that's just guys in 4.5 gen aircraft.

The united states wasnt planning on retiring at age 65 and dying at 85 you stupid fuck. Debt for nations with strong economies is a good thing. And most of it is internal. AND china attempting to "collect" all that debt torpedoes their economy and sets in motion chinkland's fast track to becoming america 2.0 or broken up into warring states for centuries until a self proclaimed emporer is ruthless enough to quash all rebellion and unite the country into one nation again.

Soviets and Russians suck at most aspects of space flight. The US is still the only nation to successfully deploy and use Mars landers, or to do serious exploration of the outer solar system. The Soviet shuttle was also a failure. There is no private space industry in Russia, nor are there reusable rocket first stages.

As you'll note from your previous post (>>34007167), things have changed in the last 25 years.

America's continuing lack of a manned launch vehicle remains an embarrassment (and, more importantly, a national security risk), but that's about to change. So just repeating the shit you got called out on counts as a response? No wonder youre not convincing anybody of russian superiority in anything.
>>
Why even bother arguing on the behalf of your country. Im sure neither russia nor america would be proud to be represented by any of us, and yet you fags still argue until you're blue in the face over technological or miltary feats of which you had no part. Nobody here went to space, yet you fags act like you personally stepped foot on the moon

Metric is way better for phsysics but I can understand frete and inches, they are literally a foot and a thumb, so you don't need a ruler, intuitive thing, now farenhights, onces, and imperial gallons are deep shit!

This, US, borrows carelesslly because they know no one can force them to pay it back. Also to maintain all the goods that everybody enjoies like freedom of navigation but no one wants to pay but the americans, so they can say they own the world, wich they do, so keep bleeding for us, while we lend you money that you''ll never pay, to serve us all. And fuck the chimks and their land grabing. Imagine if every country needed to use their navy to protect their menchant fleet? Life you be shitty and expensive!

>the most useless one in all history

Not even. Trump had one job- keep Hillary out of the White House. Mission accomplished. Anything else he accomplishes is just gravy.

Getting Goresuch confirmed? 10X bonus points for that one. Bumperjacked the libs for at least another quarter century. By then, Soros will be dead, Feinstein will be dead, Pelosi will be dead, and the New Left will have who for leadership? Identity/gender politicians like Harris. They shouldn't have gone all-in on Hillary. Their bench is empty, they're playing defense and losing because they don't know how to handle Trump. He's not a politician, the customary tells and handles don't apply. They're in panic mode because he's slashing their backfield to ribbons.

Nobody really wants this special prosecutor, because that raises the specter of impeachment. Leaving us with... Pence. It doesn't get better if you dig deeper. Ryan, then Hatch. Go too much farther and you have Tillerson. Real soon we're going to see the Republicans warming up to the idea of impeachment, putting the Dems in the position of having to try to block it. They lose credibility no matter how it plays out.

No, Trump has already been the most effective president we've had in at least a century. I can't wait to see what happens once he really gets rolling.

>theyre AMERICANIZING themselves!

Which is why we're the top country on this planet, and will be forever. Ever notice how everything that happens in the US is instant headlines in the rest of the world? That's because the rest of the world has become nothing more than spectators to America. They're constantly watching to see what we'll do next, so they can bitch about it and hate us a little more, and feel all smug because their way is obviously superior.

Thing is, the more they watch and hate, the more they become like us. Our culture is like fast food. Fast, cheap, easy, addictive, and not good for you. They know this, but they still get hooked. We do culture creep like no other on this planet.

That is why Islam hates us so hard, they recognize the threat we represent to their cozy 14th century lifestyle. And that's why China spends so much time shittalking us. And trying so pathetically hard to copy everything we do. They got a serious crush on us.

Give it another century, this planet will be a lot more like the US than it is now.

We all live in Amerika, Amerika ist wunderbar

Japanese government has a massive debt but most of that debt is held by Japanese companies and people, something like 90%+. At same time Japanese companies and banks also hold the largest portion of US foreign held debt.

>gold standard

Hey buddy, I hate to break it to you, but Lebanon is the only country in the world that is still on it. And they have a debt-to-GDP ratio of greater than 160% as of Fiscal Year 2014.

http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2014/03/lebanon-public-debt-bankruptcy-threat.html.
The US and UK have way more money in circulation than could possibly backed by gold...twenty five times more. If the US or UK wanted to get back on the Gold Standard (for what reason I have no clue), one of three things would have to happen:

1. They would have to multiply their gold reserves by 25 times. That would be difficult because the Chinese, among others, are hoarding gold already (because China wants to replace the dollar as the global currency). That would cause the spot price to skyrocket and make the US and UK to need to collect even more gold to compensate for the price shock.

2. They would have to reduce their money supply by an unrealistically huge amount. That would cause complete economic chaos worldwide.

Gold Standard has been obsolete even before Nixon took America off of it.

USA actually doesn't have imperial system, they just use it, because America is metric country.

you convert everything from metric to imperial

how do they see what's above them?
>>
>>34025789
No one can get the USA to do anything with physical force, that's true a for a couple counties.
However the us can be made to do.many things through other means, all they have to do is get a president elected that's willing to pay them back.
And that shouldn't be to difficult they've already been able to influence who the president is there with out to much effort.

Exactly.

American cars have been metric since the late 70s. GM B-bodies (Impala, Bonneville, Delta 88 etc) started in 1977, while G-body (Malibu, Lemans, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Cutlass, Regal) in 1978.

Why does soda come in 2-liter bottles? Because 2-liters is practically the same as a half gallon. And 12 ounce cans are roughly 350 milliliters.
