for what?
EDC, pocket, belt, weapon?
How bright? what size?

How bright are you wanting to go? Budget? Form factor? Use case?
blinding bright, non-lethal self defense, maybe 7"-9" long, budget $150-200

take your pick
Surefire is pretty much the standard of quality

I use the Fenix LD22 for work, this thing has survived 3 yrs of abuse and several drops of 10+ ft. Best thing is that it runs on AAs, honestly the best $50 I've ever spent.
I used to own an LD20 and that thing finally died after a bad switch and 2 yrs. so far fenix has been good to me, not even streamlights and other "heavy duty" flashlights have lasted this long.

fenix are great.
Onl had the switches go out on one from years ago and the warranty fulfiller sent me like five switches after the second time I broke one
Dropped on the tailcap at ten feet btw
>>34004315
nice, any personal recommendations on a model? maybe something that can break a window
>>34004324
a blinding flashlight has a farther range than mace, you can carry it in your hand legally, maybe hit someone with it if you needed
i dont see whats so meme about that

Thrunite tc 12 hits 1000 lumens on the highest setting. Replaced my stream light pro tac 2 with one and i like it so far

Mein neger.
I have a PD35 that I keep on my belt. Before that, I had a PD32 which I gave to a security guard friend of mine. Great little lights, you can't really go wrong with anything Fenix.
I'm gonna buy an FD30 next with a few more spare 18650s; I love the concept of a focusing lens on it.

I have not seen a light better than the Fenix PD35 series.
>right size
>right brightness levels
>right throw
>right controls
>2-phase strobe
>18650
I'm just not impressed with anything else out there. I got this, and all other lights are like "meh".

I mean, yeah, if you don't care about the buttons working for very long. I'm sure the waterproofing is probably OK.

Surefire if you want the best build quality and customer service
Fenix if you are willing to sacrifice build quality for features.

Geta better zed pic.

I think we need to clarify real quick. When /pol/ talks about how they're terrified of spooks, they don't mean ghosts.

Thrunite is the tits. Carried the TN-12 for the last few years with no issues.
Upside, it's both hella bright with 1k+ lumens and it also has a 0.6 lumen setting to not kill your eyes.
Downside is no built-in temperature control, so limit the time on higher settings. Used it for emergency 911 response and haven't ever had issues with this to date though.
Other thing to keep in mind is the controls, there's a tailcap switch with a brightness adjuster up towards the bezel. (I think nitecore puts both on the tailcap?)

Whatever, it isn't like their fears are any more real.
