Hello friends, so I totally didn't drill out an 80% lower. I definitely didn't mess up while doing it either. But say, hypothetically I did. Is the hole for the buffer retainer spring supposed to be open. (As in picture) you can also see that apoxy has been used to fix some things.
>>34001768
lol, try again.
Also what are the dementions for the hole for the trigger?
>>34001805
It doesn't matter as long as the trigger fits in.
>>34001768
Thats not where it goes, it goes right in front of the buffer threads.
And it doesn't matter how big the trigger hole is as long as it fits. Just make that hole bigger, youll lose a tiny bit of mud and sand protection, that's it.
Jeez OP this is why id rather print my lowers, if i fuck up its a $2 to a $10 mistake, not a $50 one.
Thanks fellas, and okay I'm mixed up
On the topic of 80% lowers; what sized drill press should I go with?
>>34001987
Any with a full size chuck is fine. Don't use like a dremel or anything. Bigger is better in this case of course though.
I built one a while ago if you have any more questions

Not him but lower related...
I have a dpms .308 lower with a "lip" that doesn't line up with an aero precision upper.
Could a dremel be strong enough to grind down lip? What bit works best?
I don't have access to a cbc machine.
>>34002341
if it's aluminum then yes. go slowly but at a pretty high speed. You can use one of the 'cut off wheels' like an angle grinder to grind it away. they cut right through steel.
Use a router you dipsnake

How solid does the p15 stock feel?
>>34001768
that shitty epoxy job is not going to hold. with it being that loose the safety detent can move from side to side. meaning your safety will move from side to side. to fix this fill all of that area in with jb weld or something and redrill the hole. or if you feel like being more of a hack do pic related. make an extra long detent that protrudes into the grip out of a nail or something. since its in the grip it wont have any side to side motion just up and down. you cut down the spring an appropriate amount so the new detent fits.

>dementions
not as demented as that pocket looks in OP
how do you manage to fuck up this bad?
>>34001768
Quit trying to make Ghost guns you baby killer
>>34001893
wow, that looks like shit.
I'm sorry you suck so bad with hand tools that you have to tote that abomination around.
>>34002489
It feels overbuilt actually, the weakest point is probably the handgrip portion but im nitpicking at this point
>>34003328
I dont work in one area long enough to justify buying a lathe and 5 axis cnc mill sorry. I fucking wish i can.
Not toting a 300 lb drill press around on 400 mile trip either. Printer and fusion360 is the best i can do.

The bleakest part of this is that you don't realize most of us down own machines. We have friends that can hook us up or help out.
3D printed garbage = stuff for the truly friendless
What is your malfunction?
try pressing ctrl+z

>>34001893
Were you at TXNF?
I think I talked to you in your tent about your bizzare printed P90esque lower.
>>34003729
you fucked up the t. meem.
>>34003763
put me in that screencap
>>34003741
Not him but one of mine turned out nearly as good using a $60 Walmart router and $12 corded drill
>>34001805
>>34001768
(You) need to brush up on the fundamentals friendo. Learn how to use the tools before practicing on high dollar parts.Wood is a cheap and good substitute to hone skills. Or you could continue dropping fifty spots on crucible fodder. Your pick. Also, just cos they say you can complete it with a drill, and even include instructions, doesn't mean you should go that route. I did mine with a hundred dollar drill press, a 1.5hp router and six inch vise. Wouldn't consider anything less. I can't imagine the grief involved trying to complete one with a hand drill. Just the amount of time starts to get prohibitive. Ping everyone you know to borrow if you can't afford purchasing.

Good job, what was your tool/jig/process selection?
>>34003741
Not that guy, but a jig, a mill, and taking your time. Pic related.

Better pic
