RIA skimps on QC but makes up for it with customer service. If you get a lemon, send it in. If yours is fine, enjoy your cheap 1911.

Mine had a cracked frame by the main spring housing. Sent it in and two weeks later I got a new one. To make up for it they polished the feed ramp, and tuned the trigger, and extractor, and gave me a coin, and stickers.

Not bad, but mine is a range toy. I don't use it for carry or bedside defence.

good to know they're willing to remedy their mistakes,

by any means do these cracks on the frame render the gun unshootable? or are they an aesthetic problem that can turn into a major problem

I have 300 rounds through my 10mm with only one problem in the first few rounds caused by the mag i think. i got wilson combat mags and never had another problem.

I put 500 rounds through the gun before I found the flaw. Don't know if it would cause a huge failure, but the took care of it quickly with the extra goodies.

I carried my 10mm RIA for a while since it was all I had. People always talk shit about how easy it is to carry a full size pistol, but it still sucks to actually do if you ask me.
