Everyone in this thread is clearly trolling, except the OP who's clearly 14, but I guess I'll bite and give the obvious answer no one's bothered with.

Pros:
>Stopping power
>Compact weapon

Cons:
>Fuck expensive weapon
>Fuck expensive ammo
>Retarded overpenetration if you're fighting in buildings--and if you're not why use a carbine?

Basically, if you're in a situation where you need a carbine because a rifle's too long, .50 BMG is not the right choice for that situation. The reason you use it is for either very long range (1000+ yards) or against small vehicles. A carbine's bad at both of those. It's simply overkill for CQB, and the disadvantages of weight, recoil, and low ammo capacity outweigh the benefits. If you're fighting people with armor, just use a smaller cartridge with AP rounds.
