Pretty much. If I'm not mistaken they had a lot of good ammo and then somehow the U.S. made it illegal to sell the AP rounds to non LEO/MIL. Not sure how it passed (probably fudds) but it did. I also think FN is super douches and only sell their good ammo to LEO/MIL.

The only ammo worth a damn now is Elite Ammunition "T6" and it sells out within minutes of it being back in stock.

I'd love a P90 for home defense but its just to expensive to justify owning a gun thats really only meant for CQC

It's incredibly fun to shoot, and will be even better once I SBR it. I honestly don't mind the long barrel that much, but I know it does look much better once SBR'd. Thanks, I'm pretty proud of it too. It's been a long time in the making.
I was lucky enough to get in on a lot of 10c/r 545x39 and <20c/r 54r which accounts for a lot of it. I think I spent every spare penny on my 545 stash while I was stocking up in 2010. I knew it was too good to last, and it was. I don't know if ak-74 rifles had caught on very much yet.
Even though quality is meh, I feel like this webm shows it better than a picture.

It's a Steiner Military M5Xi 5-25x56mm with MSR reticle.
I paid around 2500 euros for it. (cost in USD should be about the same)

So yeah, more expensive than a junker, I guess. But for a new car? Keep on dreaming.
All in all, when talking of higher class optics, certainly not overly expensive.

I had considered a classic Schmidt & Bender PMII, but I was afraid the illumination knob on the rear left side of the scope might interfere with my left bolt action. I then considered a few Nightforce scopes, but in the end decided to go for the higher power and european made Steiner scope.

CZ452FS. I'm honestly not a fan.
Need to work the bolt hard to feed reliably. (not uncommon, if that were the only issue, it'd be not problem)
Only used for a few hundred rounds & there's wear on the receiver from the bolt touching it where I suppose it shouldn't.
The stock dings super easy, due to it being superlight wood. I guess it's cheaper wood and people prefer light .22LRs, but personally, I don't. I'd prefer they'd have used beech, which would be a better light wood.

I'm going to give it away to a poor novice shooter from #/k/. Maybe he can appreciate it more than I do. I don't shoot it anymore and I need to make room in the safe anyway for new guns.

Also considering selling the Taurus Tracker .22LR. Which unexpectedly is a quite good revolver in this case. Single action is crisp and fairly light. Double action is workable. More accurate than I had expected, but it's basically a fixed barrel .22LR with long sight range. Of course it's going to be accurate.
But I don't shoot it enough since I went from a heavy pistol/revolver focus to a rifle focus (and hopefully soon shotgun).

When I took it out to the range for the first time. I didn't have a single jam after putting about 200 rounds through it which was surprising to say the least. Although on the last couple of shots I had a few light strikes, so I might have to check out the firing pin or replace the springs in it, which wouldn't surprise me considering the gun sat in a safe for 15+ years before I got a hold of it, could have been the ammo too, but more than likely it was the firing pin or a worn-out spring. Those are pretty easy fixes though. As long as you use the correct ammo for it (115gr. FMJ) it shouldn't jam as much as everyone says it does.
