My guess is the rifle was stolen or he was a prohibited person or he had something else illegal in the car. Dumbass didn't want to go to jail so he thought he could just knock the cop out with a butt stroke. The butt stroke used to be a legitimate part of bayonet training but that was in the era of wood stocked rifles with metal butt plates. Even then he was not doing it properly. Still a legit use of force because a well done butt stroke with the stock collapsed could still crack open the cops skull. The cop showed appropriate restraint for the situation. All in all a model of how a clean shoot is supposed to go and the body cam will help back that up. This is why body cams are important, they more often exonerate cops during a clean use of force then anything else.
