So, the Ace Combat general has come up with a aircraft design for an RPG, and I wanted to know if its a feasible design. Also, /k/'s favorite fictional combat vehicles in general.
>>33988010

>>33988270
Why not CVN+BB?
Looks like an FB-22 got too many chromosomes from a tomcat, it probably flies with enough thrust, not much else to say
>>33988010
IIRC Ace Combat usually tests its OC designs in actual flight sims before chosing to go with them, even the seemingly bullshit 12-engine monsters.
>>33988180
Both the Draken and F-16XL used cranked-arrow wings and by all accounts they had good flight characteristics.
>>33988213
plane looks like it's supposed to be stealthy, but the wings don't follow the "parallel line" principle at all.
It's got this convoluted double delta wing shape going on, would prolly be better off with a traditional swept wing or delta wing, though maybe the designer had something in mind that I missed.

Land: MOP-4K. A direct/indirect fire support vehicle derived from the Ukrainian BTR-4.
>>33988923
It is obviously Russian stealth standard of 1 sq.m. RCS.
>>33989203
Sea: The Red October SSBN. Lengthened Akula class (NATO: Typhoon) SSBN with more R-39 SLBM's and a new form of propulsion; a magnetohydrodynamic drive.

>>33990102
>Lifting body designs rely on the body itself to produce lift
>What are F15, F16, F18, F22 and F35
Lifting body design supplements the lift from the wings with additional lift from the body. It's one of the reasons the F15 was such a dominating fighter even though it was one of the largest air superiority fighters ever designed. That's why shit like the Jew F15 that landed with one wing can happen.

>>33988923
>It's got this convoluted double delta wing shape going on, would prolly be better off with a traditional swept wing or delta wing
No. Cranked deltas are better than delta wings for sustained supersonic flight. The big benefit is the reduced center of pressure shift you get from the transition between subsonic and supersonic flight, but you also get things like lower drag due to lift for the same aspect ratio (lets you use a higher sweep, which can let you have a subsonic leading edge at higher Mach numbers on the inboard section) and better subsonic performance - albeit at the cost of adverse pitch moments at high angles of attack.
That clipped root comes from the F-16XL, which was done to reduce the adverse moment at high angles of attack that wind tunnel testing revealed for the F-16 SCAMP design.

Technically, Chalybs Defense Solutions owned (legitimate) Scorpion production from the start. They just got fucking BTFO'd during the Human-Covenant War when Meridian fell. Acheron Security took over in their stead.
By 2557, Chalybs had recovered from their losses, regained the UNSC contract for MBT production, and subsequently released a new model of Scorpion, most likely because they had to rebuild all the tooling from scratch anyways.
Though I won't bitch about the misconception - fuckin' 343i doesn't include those fuckin' details in their fuckin' lore-dump articles. Hell, the original Scorpion page can only be accessed via Wayback, since it got overwritten when the info for the M820 popped up.

I'd kill for a scanned version of the book, anon. Ripped these images form this site http://www.wingsee.com/ghibli/porcorosso/planes.html
Would it work?

I doubt the copyright is the problem. They just change any and every vehicle and most weapons.
Most Gundam shows have retarded magic cockpits, but Gundam Wing's cockpits are pure sex.

Looks like a reasonably realistic night fighter concept, although if that's the case it should have the dorsal crew position removed and the aft of the cockpit streamlined better.

Seem reasonable for a late WW2/early cold war light bomber concept, but the dorsal gun position looks fairly useless - the tailgun has a better field of fire than it.
Also, given how big these things seem to be, the forward guns seem to be a bit useless. The plane looks like it's bigger than even an F-105, and, even in the best case where it would have turboprops, it looks like its power to weight ratio would be low enough for it to struggle with more attack-oriented missions.

No it doesn't, you know that at the time FASA bought the rights from Twentieth Century Imports to use that and 11 other designs? Okay, so things went south pretty quick because it turned out that Twentieth Century Imports didn't have the licence for these from Harmony Gold, but hey-ho.
Best flying aircraft carrier. Shame there weren't more like the Gekko. All the other ships in E7 are just so... angular. At least the Gekko looks like it could fly.
