I have an ALICE rig with 2 canteens and 2 ammo pouches. Is there some ALICE specific bag that I can mount onto the rig that would serve as a sort of a backpack (what I mean is, is there any alternative to the 'buttpack'?)

How is ALICE gear supposed to be worn, rig seperate of the actual infantry backpack?

And yes, you do wear it separate from the backpack. The backpack has two release clips for dropping it in combat.

i am trying to plan a web kit for nonstandard equipment, field recording gear. any systems/ideas for a base harness to build on? >>33986056 looks pretty good actually. main items are several coils of cord, canteen sized unit with a screen/buttons id need to see (chest or belly mounted), 18" collapsed tripod, some standard pouches for baffles/mics.

my main concern now is holding cordage so that it wont be tangled when walking through wilderness. also is there a standard laptop carrying solution?

Smersh and Partizan rigs are very comfy and durable, especially the older Avizent ones. They also have that aesthetic as fuck mustardy color.

Everyone from FSB (Federal Security) to MVD (Internal Bureau) and recon units still make use of them.

Buddy in the army had to do that. He was the 240B gunner, but they didn't have enough pistols so they issued him an M4 with the underbarrel shotgun on it. The one they use for breaching doors. They made him carry a full combat load for both too.
