Sounds it's probably correct. They made a ton of the 115gr Teflon coated bullets back in the 90's but the negative press from the assumption that the "slick" Teflon made them armor piercing killed sales pretty quick

It's probably re manufactured ammo that has a 8% chance of causing a squib or an overpressure explosion because Bubba was drunk that night.

The reason they're black is because they're powder-coated lead bullets. Powder coating is much cheaper than copper plating or copper jacketing. The powder coating is a cheap way of preventing leading with cast bullets.

Maybe next time you should fucking research your ammo before you buy it.

There's a black wax or powder over the lead to keep it from leading the barrel. You see this alot with cheap ammo - the black coating costs hell of alot less than a copper jacket.

Is this a thing? Is there even 9mm 115gr that's capable of defeating level III/IIIA? I know the Russians have that 7N stuff that's supposed to be +P AP or something but I can't imagine a 9mm load that can defeat armor and still be shot out of a pistol.
