fucking huge in the hand. it doesnt seem that big til you get it in your hand or have next to another gun.

The most comfortable way to shoot it DA is to choke up really high but you get hammer bite.(not painful hammer bite).

How well would a .357 fitz special work? Would .38 or .45 be a better caliber for it?
>>
test
>>
>>33986851
If you have giant hands or wear gloves all the time and need a gun with a barrel so short you lose all the advantages of .357 go for it.

This concept was designed by a guy in a time WAY before there was a substantial number of people who CCW'd on a regular basis. We have so many better deep concealment options now there is no universe where a fitz special is the optimal choice.

It's only appeal is the aesthetic.

No - it existed because there were virtually no niggers and spics so 99% of them were never fired in anger.
>>
>>33990773
No, it's really just fucking inferior.

If you want to make one as strong as a typical single-action or hand-ejector, you really need to add way more mass and make larger dimensions, making a .44 Magnum top-break would make for a bulky hunk of shit, trying to make one in .454 Casull or .480 Ruger would make for an unusable fucking beast of a handgun.

It's structurally inefficient.
>>

>there was no blacks or spaniards in 1800's America

>>
>>33990797
And aside from the one Uberti in .45colt, who the fuck said it had to be a big bore magnum? The weakness gets brought up in every thread but nobody every has a link to a a No.3 that's been shot to pieces or one of the .38 specials that eaten too much +p. If the Rex gets brought up people shout that it's never been tested but the RUSSIANS thought it would work, and nobody has any ideas for how the lock may be improved.

Nobody is worried about making a big bore blaster or break action MR73, just a modern break action gun
>>

Spic=/=Spaniard

Don't let either group here you confuse them and don't call other Latinos Mexicans
>>
>>33990930
Yeah, so let's look at the centerfire break-action revolvers which are currently being made, the Anderson Wheeler .357 Webley, and the Uberti .45 Schofield

The Anderson Wheeler gun is approximately $9000, being in .357 Magnum, decent pressure, but who knows how well it holds up over time.

Then the Uberti, it is a $1000 to $1500 gun and is available in .45 Colt, .38 Special, and .44-40, notice how these are all relatively low pressure cartridges, all things considered, I doubt anyone is going to be shooting any barn-burning loads in of .45 Colt in those, probably because it couldn't handle it.

Both are replicas of old obsolete designs made for a modern collector market, and lots of money probably goes into making them safe to shoot for just modern target loads, these aren't really guns you'd carry, or keep in your glovebox, or take out hunting.

>Are there any modern break-action revolvers out there? I only know of pic related, and not only is it ~20 years old, it never even made it out of the prototype stage.
Not really, the frame isn't strong enough to handle powerful magnum rounds (which is like 90% the point of having a revolver). There is a good reason why we moved away from break action wheel guns 120 years ago.

Yeah, tightening them up since they don't have room function with black powder and using the same quality steel as anything since the 1880s.

1969 Diamondback

I've fired the Python. It's as amazing as people say it is. The Diamondback I haven't gotten around to, but it's basically just a Detective Special with a full underlug and vent rib barrel with adjustable sights- it's not nearly as nice.

If I wanted to shoot more I have a Colt Trooper for .357. Not the same but still nice.

A large number of them have cylinders shaved down to accept .45ACP in moon clips. even with that they aren't rated for modern .45ACP pressures. I wanna say they are rated for like 13,000 PSI. With the weight of the gun and the mild ammo I bet it's pretty tame to shoot.

Congrats on joining the club, anon. There are quite a few of us here who have one and love it. What did it run you OTD?
>>
>>33978738

Back in the day guns were even more uncommon among the populace, at least carrying them wasn't a common thing except for particular people involved in particular things.

Even today, a .22 with 7 shot capacity will make most dindus run, and even kill one.

But in the off chance they stay and get in a shoot out with me, I want to have a caliber that at least starts with a .32, I carry 9mm or .38+p of course.
>>
>>33979179
This looks like a good way to shoot yourself. Holy shit. I don't mind the holster as much as I mind the cut trigger guard. But when you mix them two together, lol. I mean, hell, I sure wouldn't carry it that way.
>>
>>33984035

Get a double action. The double actions can be reloaded fairly quickly and thus still pretty viable for self defense, shtf, etc you name it. Not to mention the can be cocked back and also shoot like a single action would.
>>
>>34000094

This is one of the major things I dislike about us Americans, just because the Government allows us to have SOME guns that are a bit more than what other countries usually can get, they think we're not cucked in every other possible way.
>>
>>34007792
>A bit more

>they think we're not cucked in every other possible way
Really fires the neurons. Name a less cucked country on earth (you can't). If you want to compare anywhere on earth to your dream world just to call it bad then you're a dumbass.
>>
>>34007733
Hey, no argument that any gun can't intimidate, getting shot even with little .22 Short can ultimately be really dangerous even if it doesn't kill you on the spot, nobody wants to be shot.

But you're also seriously underarming yourself with a tiny little target gun like that.
A blackpowder .22 Short must have been really very modest in velocity, I'd think twice about using it even for trapping, wanting to at least step up to .22 Long
>>
>>34007741
DA
>>
>>34006954
That's shitty advice and the brass can be reloaded for a long time since it's so low pressure. And I don't mean 4 times, I mean more times than you would believe
>>
>>34009955
What's shitty about it. Shaved guns are more common and cost less. If you want a shooter instead of an unmolested collector piece shaved is the way to go. I already reload for .45ACP so if I wanted a Webley I'd for sure be looking to get a shaved gun.
>>
>>34009955
If youre handy, you can actually make .455 brass out of .45LC casings that are trimmed down to an appropriate length, and those will survive more reloadings than you will ever possibly put them through.

I keep checking in on my local shops trying to get a pre lock smith 44mag. Got nothing yet. The struggle is real

Everything you could ever need to know about handloading for your .455 Webley

Not a bad idea, but do they chamber right? Have you tried it?

It's a sub-$200 .22LR gun, it's basically Hi-Point tier.

Also like the Hi-Point, it seems a lot of people have pretty decent experiences with them.

>bobbed hammer
>with extended cylinder release
>and even protruding rear sights
For what reason? and the beveled front end is even more sillier. Match shooting of some sort? If that, then why not hourglass the hammer? That way you could use less powerful spring for the hammer without compromising reliability. I'm confused.

You would probably work harden and crack the mouths before anything.

Thanks for the advice anon, will keep in mind when disassembling it. Dry firing with that safety engaged should protect the firing pin though, right?

Honestly I'd get some snapcaps.

Or some spent casings.

>no hand nugget
>>
>>34016872
Hand nuggets are really bafflingly expensive these days.
In a few years they'll be about the same pirce as new, good revolvers.
>>
>>34016944
There is nothing baffling about it. The days of cheap milsurp are over for ever. Seriously if there is some 20th century milsurp you think you want. make it a priority to get it over newer production guns because they will only be going up in price from here on out.
>>
>>34016872
They're not that good to look at.

>>34016944
It's amazing considering demand must be almost nothing because of how awful they are.

I mean how many people who buy them even shoot them all that much? The impression I get is that they just get one because they want to fill out their collection of slav guns.
>>
>>34017182
silencing it comes to mind, not too many revolvers can do that.

i'd probably get one if i saw it locally under 200

USPSA revolver division. Target rear blade sight, extended release for speed (same as machining for moonclips), bobbed hammer for speed (lightweight action) and to keep me from reverting to old single action habits on long range shots. So yes, it's all competition specific. Hope that helps explain it.
>>
>>34017421
What about Hour glassing the hammer like I said, couldn't you use lighter hammer springs then? Also thanks for clearing it up.
>>
>>34017282
Well they do have that novelty, but how many people are gonna go about filing an NFA form for a gun that's actually really terrible and has little enjoyment beyond the novelty mentioned?
