MAC is a shill, but I think you guys have the wrong idea about who he shills for. The guy owns a gun store and I think his videos are all about advertising his business and pitching whatever products he currently has good margins on.

I think he also just takes offers from whoever wants to give him free shit to review or fly him out to factory tours or whatever, and plays nice so they invite him back again. They don't need to pay him a cent, he gets paid in free content for his channel.

I used to work for a BMW tuning shop with a race team and a very active media presence, and this kind of shit happened all the time. Companies never paid us to shill, but they gave us really good margins, free or heavily discounted parts for our race car, etc., as long as we featured their stuff and hashtags prominently in our social media and put our cars in their booths at shows a few times a year. I think MAC is a very similar situation.

To be fair, there have only been a few truly original designs in the last century or so, and almost every gun borrows from others. 90% of handguns in the world are based on the 1911's locking mechanism, and the CZ is a particularly obvious example. I'm pretty sure FCC regulations don't apply to Youtube videos and Instagram posts, and even if they did, there's no proof that there's any sponsorship at all. As far as I can remember he was open about gun companies flying him out for events, factory tours, etc., and the fact that he may have appeared at IWI's booth at an event in no way means they're paying for favorable coverage on his channel.

I'll go back to what I said earlier, that I think his shilling is for his own business's benefit.
