What can I eat innawoods without poaching?
I'd like to go hike and camp and eat what I find, however pa has squirrel hunting season and I'd rather not get fucked for poaching. Am I shit out of luck?
>>33964822
Hogs.
Just, err... don't eat any that been chewing on tires or garbage. They taste almost exactly like what they eat.
>>33964822
just starve yourself so you have the excuse of doing it for survival if caught
>>33964822
Insects, fish, maybe snakes
>>33964951
Nothing beats skinning and cooking an animal though. I guess snakes and fish are close!
>>33964870
Is that a thing?
>>33964822
Just go during squirrel season if you want squirrel. Otherwise go for snakes, fish, and bugs. Oh, and coyotes are fine to hunt year round I think, though I can't say I'd want to eat one.
>>33965054
Those nasty fucks, I'm not sure I'd eat one unless going full STALKER.
Is a .22 quiet enough to avoid getting caught by park ranger for killing squirrel?
>>33964822
Kind of an >>>/out/ question.
I respect it, sort of. But it's kind of a hippy question. Don't poach tho, I fucking hate poachers.
>>33965098
Maybe suppressed. Air rifle would be a better bet though.
>>33965098
.22 short. It's enough but you don't even need to wear ear pro.
>>33964822
The Yarl can't eat every deer, can he?
>>33965149
I'd like to do STALKER challenge and break in a couple rifles without getting in serious heat
>>33964846
Fuck hogs
Absolute degenerates. Kill them all
>>33965168
I'm not sure that's enough to operate the bolt on the 10/22. Might have to chase the cunts down
>>33965210
Indeed.
>>33965397
What are you stupid? It's a 10/22. It will fire a .22 short. It's fucking designed too.
>>33964822
Just get a hunting license, and bag rabbits by the dozen (or whatever the daily bag limit is in your state)
>>33965484
I'm not denying it'll fire properly, I'm saying the force in the .22 short isn't enough to cycle the bolt properly and I'd have to do it manually
The 10/22 is designed to fire .22 lr
>>33965484
Erm, yeah but as he said, it won't cycle. Even weak .22LR doesn't always cycle.
>>33965518
They're not in season either
I could hunt down groundhogs maybe? Never ate one tho
>>33965520
>>33965526
Well I've only fired .22 shorts out of my buddy's old Marlin. But he said bolt action. So how does it need to cycle?
You empty the cartridge and get another by using the bolt. Not trying to be a shithead, correct me if I'm wrong.
>>33965563
The 10/22 is a semi auto. That being said, it does have a bolt, which cycles automatically.
Unless you use an anemic .22LR or .22 short.
>>33965563
The term bolt doesn't mean it's a bolt action. Many guns use a bolt. A 10/22 is the model name of the Ruger 10/22, it is a common semi automatic rifle designed for .22 lr
I'm not stupid btw
>>33965581
>>33965611
I stand corrected. Of course it has a bolt. I assumed bolt action. My bad.
Could always hand feed .22 shorts though. Who needs rapid fire for squirrel.
>>33965643
It's okay, I'll manually cycle .22 short and kill and eat a squirrel in your honor
>>33965178
Started laughing hysterically until I was crying, me roommates girlfriend now probably thinks I'm a creep.
Worth it
>>33964822
>Ghille suit
>Black gun with stainless, reflective bull barrel
Why tho?

>>33965452
Fucc, that's brutal
>>33964822
If you don't want to wait 'till squirrel/rabbit season you could see if bullfrogs have a season or specific legal method of take (that isn't shooting). I don't live anywhere near PA, but bullfrogs are all over the US where there's water.
>>33965732
Seriously.
Cool ghillie though.
>>33965956
Never thought of frog, that's a good one
>>33964822
My state has year round open season on rabbits and nearly year round open season on squirrels.
>>33966132
You're a lucky man, anon
