I doubt that. The M240 is as heavy as it is because its overbuilt, meaning it will keep firing for decades. Plus while roller delayed blowback makes for quite accurate weapons, its also very violent compared to gas operated guns. This is an irrelevance for a G3, but I wouldn't be surprised if older HK21s get stress fractures in the receivers.

Jesus Christmas anon no, don't get either. I have a massive bone for the M249S but you can get a PTR and a shitload of drums and it won't make you feel like you have less gun.

Michael's Machines out of Illinois was making semi-auto HK21s. As the other posters mentioned, they cost a small fortune.

The heavy barreled PTR FR model is probably the best substitute.

That anon actually bought a DShK and unboxed it on /k/. Converted it to .50BMG. I think I was last year, and I believe there's a greentext somewhere, but I don't have it. I remember something about him living in Alaska or somewhere. It was unloaded out of the back of a moving truck.
