which got me thinking, what kind of weaponry would it require to take down a Paraceratherium or a Stegosaurus or a T-rex etc.

I think about any assault rifle
>>
>>33949639
>>33949645
In the case of a Brachiosaurus which stands 26 meters tall, it may actually be difficult to aim at a moving target that far up
>>
>>33949672
Why the fuck are you aiming for the head? The heart would be literally right above your head. Grab a .458 Lott or some shit and shoot up.

a creature that big, you dont need to aim at the head, just blow his legs, the fall would end it

Simple, just use the 700 tyrannosaur (nitro express) cartridge. Actually a .700 cartridge. Not quite as much energy as 50BMG but an even heavier projectile.

for EDC you'd want HEAT rounds from a tripple barrel pistol, not unlike pic.

an ar in 50 beowolf or 458 socom comes to mind.
but you see jewllywood thinks a lever gun in 45-70 in a park that spares no expense would be enough. if i saw security with that in a dino park i would sue for negligence.

How about a cryptid hunt. Kasai Rex is supposedly a modern day tyrannosaurid living in the heart of Africa.
Here's my load out for an extended excursion/hunt for one of these things.
>>
>>33950664
Where is that? Looks fucking neat.
>>
Most dinosaurs were very lightly built animals with superbly effective respiratory systems. That's what let them reach such massive sizes.
In theory, there would probably be far less stuff that a bullet would need to get through to hit something vital, and bones would be far more susceptible to catastrophic damage.

Chances are T.rex could be stopped with a Brenneke slug.

Literally retarded fantasy
>>
>>33955742
jesus christ what game is that
>>
>>33955814
Indeed. You can instantly tell it's bullshit because it's a tyrannosaurid in Africa. Whoever made that shit up hasn't done his homework.

>>

That doesn't look like it would shoot very flat. There's very little powder considering the fuckhuge projectile. I think it would fall out of the air like .45-70 does.

Why not just scale up .50 BMG even further? Directly proportional but double the size? That should keep the same kind of nice flat-shooting trajectory and have a giant fuckton of muzzle energy.

You probably couldn't shoot it from your shoulder but it would get the fucking job done all right.

For existing rounds, I'd probably just go with 20mm and expect to use quite a few.
>>
>>33955773
jurrasic park, duh.
dont worry you have to fork over like 5000 bucks to just get on he island let alone see any exhibits. poorfags like us can't afford to go.
>>
>>33956461
Square-cube law becomes an issue as bullets are scaled up.
>>
>>33956504
True. But shouldn't that problem be addressed with even more powder, not less?

My point is that most really big oddball rounds tend to be really heavy and slow, and that's a problem.
>>
>>33955814
Both "photos" of it were proved to be hoaxes, one literally superimposed a pic of the Allosaurus from the valley of gwangi over a rhino.

I wonder what Dimetrodon tasted like.
Or any of the Anomalocarids, for that matter.

Would .223 work on a Dimetrodon?
