Most dinosaurs were very lightly built animals with superbly effective respiratory systems. That's what let them reach such massive sizes.
In theory, there would probably be far less stuff that a bullet would need to get through to hit something vital, and bones would be far more susceptible to catastrophic damage.

Chances are T.rex could be stopped with a Brenneke slug.

That doesn't look like it would shoot very flat. There's very little powder considering the fuckhuge projectile. I think it would fall out of the air like .45-70 does.

Why not just scale up .50 BMG even further? Directly proportional but double the size? That should keep the same kind of nice flat-shooting trajectory and have a giant fuckton of muzzle energy.

You probably couldn't shoot it from your shoulder but it would get the fucking job done all right.

For existing rounds, I'd probably just go with 20mm and expect to use quite a few.
