>inb4 zero, I know. Will adjust sight accordingly, that's not what I'm asking.

What's with the rounds going off to the 7'oclock? That string felt very consistent.

Left handed shooter, target at 100 yards.

Just flip this and you have a lefty target
This is for pistols though

Length of barrel? Type of ammo? Hollow point? Need more info. Yes you pulled. But, at 100 yds if you tell me you got that with a snub nose or micro sized 380, I'll take pointers from you.
>>
>>33948423
16" middie AR.
Federal XM193.
>>
>>33948281
Were the first shots from a cold barrel? Could be your shots stringing up due to the barrel warming up. My FN49 does it.
>>
>>33948769
This was after shooting for a bit.
>>
>>33948896
Federal XM193 ammo is not the best ammo for match shooting, you should not expect 1moa accuracy with a 55gr bullet through a 1:7 twist barrel. More likely you were pulling your shots coupled with shot stringing from a heating up barrel with 'meh' ammunition. Proper breathing and trigger pull techniques will help improve accuracy, but ammunition choice is a contributing factor.
>>
>>33948281
How are you gripping the weapon and applying trigger pressure anon?
>>
>>33948281
You need to shoot more up and to the right.
>>
>>33948984
So you're saying that isn't a horrible group for 20 rounds of XM193?

I'm definitely interested in why I'm pulling those shots but it's difficult to self diagnose that kind of thing.
>>
>>33949040
Pad of finger. 2-stage trigger so I take it up until the break and just squeeze a bit (I think it's a 2 lb 2nd stage) to pop off the round.

Shooting position is uncomfortable as hell since it's from a rather awkward bench setup.
>>
>>33948395
>Too much masturbation
I'm inclined to agree with this chart.
>>
You aren't shooting freedom-munitions reman are you? My buddy was shooting their 55gr and they overcrimped the round and the jacket tore apart in the barrel and left shrapnel in the flash hider. He was getting 2' groups at 100yds.

Make sure your sight/mount, barrel nut, and flash hider are properly tightened.

Bring target back to 50.
Bore sight if you have to.
Fire a couple of fouling shots off target.
Bench rest.
Make sure firearm naturally points to target without assistance.
Make sure rifle is resting nicely on shoulder/sled.
Fire 5 shots.(Follow through with shot and dont snap)
Trail scope to centre of group spread.
Repeat at 100. (You may find you are now shooting high)
>>
>>33948416
These charts only work for 1 handed pistol shooting.
>>
You're curling your wrist before pulling the trigger because you're scared of the recoil.

Who made the barrel? What style of hand guards? Are you shooting off of a bag, bipod, prone, sitting? Are you using irons or optics?

>>

>Who made the barrel?
Bravo company 16" middie 1:7 twist, I believe their barrels are actually made by FN though, if I'm not mistaken.

>What style of hand guards?
Free float.

>Are you shooting off of a bag,bipod,prone,sitting?
Sitting at a bench. Resting ff hand guard on wood.

>Are you using irons or optics?
Irons
>>
>>33948984
M193 was originally created for the m16a1 with a 1:12 twist rate
>>
>>33948281
Anticipating recoil for the patterning low and left. Try dry firing the weapon, it will help. And the rounds high left are from slapping the trigger.
>>
>>33952696
For dry firing, remove the charge handle and run a piece of paracord/550 cord around the gas key and have someone stand behind you and keep recocking it after you fire so you don't lose your cheek weld.
>>
>>33952665
1:7 is fine for 55gr

OP bring your target back to 50yds. Spend some time on the fundamentals. As others have stated, finger placement and breathing are very important. Is your bench completely stable? Do you have enough room to get comfortable and stable? I prefer to zero in the prone, the position is very repeatable. If you dont already get a shooting sock/bag to help steady your buttstock. When you shoot, do a group of 5, then get up and move around for a min. This will help with stress and any aggravation you may have. Repeat this process until your groups are consistently ending up in the same spot on the target. THEN make your windage/elevation correction
>>
>>33952819
All good tips. Unfortunately I can't go prone at this range. There are very few around here that aren't bench, the rest I don't know of. Also no, the bench is not completely stable due to shit concrete slab.
>>
>>33952884
Is it stated policy? One of the shooting ranges in my ao is similar, all concrete benches. If I request a bay, the first or the last, I can go prone. That way there isnt a risk that someone will trip over my legs. Things like a wobbly bench have to be eliminated before you can really diagnose problems.

Fyi, my knowledge of the 55gr round comes from my m16 build I did, pic related, I think it's got a 1:7 twist rate, I can't look at it now since I am in nc and it's in mn, however it's still accurate past 200 yards.
>>
Bullets actually do not travel straight.

All rifled bullets travel in a slightly spiral trajectory depending on many things.

Dead on at 100 yards might go right at 150 and left at 200....

That knowledge about what your bullet will do at different distances is what separates shooters from snipers.
>>
>>33948281
You can feel a big veiny cock up your ass and you'll still have horrible trigger control.

Want to fix that shit group? Hand your gun to someone that hasn't been traumatized by 5.56 recoil

That's for right handed strong hand only shooting, useless for freestyle which OP is surely using.
>>
>2017
>still using the 'pad of the finger' meme

You're grip is the baseline of the 'trigger fundamentals'. You need to have a natural grip that doesn't torque your hand in any way when you pull the trigger. Most people will have this issue (as hand sizes vary) when they use the pad of their finger.

Pad of the finger was designed for Olympic shooters using a 2 OUNCE trigger, not a 2 pound trigger. Get a natural grip and squeeze wherever your trigger finger naturally rests. No more torquing your hand and pulling the rifle off target.
>>
>>33953140
Only if you use trash tier bullets will it do that

>>
>>33953829
It's the left eye dominance that is the issue. I shoot pistols right handed.
>>
>>33958003
If you're using a scope, just shoot right handed, fuck that shooting left handed bullshit.
I'm left eye dominant as fuck, but right handed. I just shoot with my right hand anyway and it works fine.
