I recall reading a tale on, I think The High Road of a cop who had taken his HD shotgun to the range, loaded it with Dragon's Breath, then took it home and never swapped back to HD ammo. Sometime later his wife catches a couple Mexicans climbing through a window and lets a round fly. Nearly burning the house down and scaring the ever-living piss out of the Mexicans. They catch the guys about two weeks later breaking into a different home and ID them by the burns and pock-marks from the DB.

Go get some firework mortar shells that shoot those spining whistlers out when they explode then fill some 12 gauge shells full of the little magnesium covered cloth cords and flash powder inside.

Dragon's breath is cool. Buck and ball and maybe flechettes are semi-practical.

12ga mini buckshot might also be good if your shotty can feed them reliably.

#4 buckshot is what I would use for HD. Within HD distances it provides just the right amount of penetration with about thirty .23cal pellets.

You can literally make a shell with both buckshot and dragonsbreath in it though.

Not that I'd suggest it, but it's technically possible.
