One weird little discussion we had about guns was when I was playing Max Payne 3. so tl;dr ex was pretty neutral overall. She never took an interest in shooting despite it being something that was important to me. We shared plenty of other hobbies so having one thing to do alone wasn't bad.

My girl is cool with guns, she goes shooting with me from time to time. Her favorite is the PPK, I was considering selling it and getting a Shield but she objected, and I'm just happy she likes a gun so I kept it. When I bought a pistol years ago (not my first, but the first since we've been dating) I told her about it and was bracing for her hitching about a gun in the house. Her only response was, "let's go shoot it!"
