Pure vanilla(all I ever played) was a decent game once you got a hang of it. It is stupid at times, but fun once you are geared up.

What makes it one of the best games I have played is the universe it is set in. An irritated no-mans land centered around the worst industrial disaster of all time filled with believable factions and 2 spooky 4 me creatures beats the hell out of Fallout's various settings.
