What does /k/ think of the Vektor R4?
>>33941302
Where can I get one?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't R4s and R5s galil clones? I still want the fuck out of one though

Slightly modified but internals are more or less the same.

South Africa
>>33941435
Basically just a South African Galil ARM with a small handful of changes (stock and magazines are now polymer, stock is shorter, no carrying handle, etc.)

4chan, roleplaying and trolling, all day, all night.

I want one.
>>33941474
Strange that they'd shorten the stock, I'd figure Dutchmen, Englishmen and Africans are considerably taller than Jews. Was the standard Galil considered uncomfortable to use?
>>33941474
And the Galil was the Israeli version of the Finnish version of the Polish version of the AK

>556'er
Pass
>>33941302
I made an R5.
>>33944250
It was quite expensive, and the parts are hard to get unless you know someone over there.
>>33944264
Receivers are about $599+ for a CNC Warrior that's 100% good.
Parts kits are coming in, but your options for barrels are very limited. Additionally, small parts like bullet guides are difficult to find.
South African parts... Some can be found at 24hourtactical, but they're expensive.
>>33941951
The stock is ~1.25" longer than the metal Israeli one.
>>33944403
why not use the israeli one?
>>33944415
It's shorter, heavier, and doesn't go with an R4/5/6 build.
bretty gud/1-
>>33941302
you mean the galili?
>>33944606
An R4/5 is a South African manufactures improved variant of the Galil.
It has a different hand guard and a stock among other things.
>>33941302
Oh look, a .223 AK. How innovative!
>>33944633
>better sights
>better inherent accuracy
>stronger receiver
>5,56mm NATO
>tritium night sights
>free floating gas tube
>bipod for shooting and wirecutting
>better machining and stamping quality
It's alright.
>>33944767
>>free floating gas tube
How the fuck does that work?
>bipod for shooting and wirecutting
How the fuck does THAT work?

>Better sights
I hate this
I really do
It's only better if you train on aperture sights. It's worse if you train on notch and post.
Personally, I've shot lots of notch and post guns, so if you put a regular AK in my hands, I will shoot better than if you put a Galil in my hands
Aperture sights being better is not a fact, it's just the much more common modern preference to notch and post sights.

The gas tube dovetails into the top of the receiver, and mates with the gasblock + front sight. This is a much more elegant way than the AK design, with how the gas tube goes through the rear sight tower.
There's a hook thing where the bi-pod pivots. You can snip barbed wire with it, kind of like the AK bayonet.
>>33944954
Inherently they're better, due to the increased sight radius along with the aperture. The cool thing is you have both 100m notch + post sights, along with 300/500m aperture.
The R-series also has a finer front sight post than the Galils, so it's easier to shoot long distance.
AK sights are akin to submachinegun style than aperture sights normally found on rifles.

Again, I disagree
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot an M1A for the first time, and I had a very difficult time finding my little orange clay targets, let alone making speedy follow up shots
Although to be fair, M1A sights are quite different than your close-range large radius aperture sights, which I don't mind as much
However again, personally I am able to acquire a target and make follow up shots much quicker with notch and post as opposed to aperture since I've had more time with the former. I confirmed this with myself went I went shooting with a group of buddies and tried out all their different guns
Not to mention I absolutely love the slider in increments of 100m to 1000m, although granted I'll never hit shit past 300m with irons, let alone with 7.62x39mm's long range track record
It's just different preferences, my dude
