I don't go to public ranges very often so fortunately I haven't seen much cringe.

I have seen alot of terrible groupings and women being ruined on shooting because their husband/bf decided that the first gun they ever shoot should be a ruger LC9 or airweight 38 with +p.

It was a good range day

My range is a big public range in a major city in the southwest. Last time I went, I'm a stand over from some black folks, one of them obviously shooting for the first time. He could not, for the life of him, get a good grip on his friend's pistol. He had some very meaty mitts made worse by his natural inclination to cross both thumbs around the back of the grip (by the end of the day, he had masking tape where the webbing between his thumb and forefinger used to be). Taking pity on him, I let him shoot my .38 revolver. No possibility for slide bite, and it seemed a more natural fit in his hands. "Yo, this shoot real smooth, man." I think I convinced him to get a cheap model 10 or 64 instead of a Glock .40 Problem Solver®.

I've done the 12 rounds over 90 min thing. I used to go to the range every weekend and would basically shoot the shit with some usual guys and would occasionally put some 5 round groups down range. In the 8hrs I'd spend at the outdoor range I'd prolly shoot 20-40 rounds of 308, 40 rounds of 223, and 50-100 rounds of 22lr. the 22lr was usually first thing in the morning so I'd shoot that and 223 usually pretty quickly, but after 12 o clock is when the line would fill up and then came the banter.

It's crazy how good new cars are, used to work at a lube shop my friend and his brother opened and people would come in with zero oil in their car and be running fine still. More than once some retard employees somehow forgot to oil cars before back them off lift and outside. The most bizarre shit I've had was taking pic related out to the range in the same condition I bought it. Then a bunch of people asked me what the hell it was, and I had to explain the poor thing's history.

I confirmed that mags were shit, almost immediately removed the scope when I discovered that there's no way in fuck it could hold a zero, and then packed up to go home.

I fixed her... She's pretty now.

We can have guns, but without the fun. There's tons of hoops to jump through before you can legally own guns. Once you own guns, you have to keep them locked up in a gun safe. You can't legally carry (open or concealed), you have to transport them in a safe container (like a special compartment welded into your car), seperate from ammo. You can only shoot at approved ranges, no innawoods fun allowed.
You can also go to ranges and rent guns even with no permit. It's absurdly expensive and due to the nonexistent gun culture few people do it, which is why you generally don't see any shitheads there.
