I know they buy in bulk to make their overhead, but let's talk about the value on the consumer end, and tally up the MSRP of everything pictured. Do you fall short of getting your money's worth? I'm honestly curious - I was always curious enough to glance at these boxes but the price tag has been a lolno. 'Ere we go:

Otter Wax 2.25oz - $14
Shemagh - $10 at any gun show
Mission mossy oak boonie hat: $15
DexShell Trekking Socks - $27 (yikes)
Cannon Balm - $9.50
Frogg Toggs poncho - $16 ($10 more would get you the heavy military type with eye loops on the corners so you can use it as a rain fly, sheesh)
Joshua Tree Winter Stick - $10
Yaktrax Walk cleats - $15
SOG kiku - $100

So going purely by raw MSRP, the value here is $216.50. If you liked everything and would use the entire package, you do come out ahead. Of course we can knock off some theoretical brownie points because you cannot pick or plan around what you get, you pay for a pig in a poke. Some things might be better replaced with a slightly different (and often cheaper) version.

Verdict: Fun, not an especially practical use for your survival buck, but not the monument to retardation some folks (or one samefag) are spouting off about in this thread.
