I just spent about 3 hours scrubbing spray paint off my rifle. Didn't harm the finish and it's back to normal, but I don't know what the fuck I was thinking.

Yeah, I don't camo my firearms, but since I'm a city boy, and squirrels are evil little shits who fuck up my garden, and since there's a bylaw prohibiting discharging any sort of weapon in city limits, I kinda camo'd my silenced PCP carbine. It's only hitting with 10fpe but that'senough on squirrels with perfect placement. Light sand and dull green on a stone textured base coat worked out pretty good to not make a wire stocked short carbine look like a gun. So no SWAT visits so far. So yeah.

As for how-to, mostly surface prep with acetone, shake the bloody hell out of your rattle cans to ensure good blending with chemical driers and avoid months of sticky paint, and Krylon clear satin a few coats over the colours. Or go with engine block paint. VHT dries really hard. Limited colours though.

Nah. Just some biege sand for the base, dull green narrow diagonals, not worth setting up to photograph. It doesn't stand out is all.
