How viable is it to run up behind a M1, jump onto its turret, open the hatch, and just chuck a grenade in? Even just two guys, one with a welders kit and one with the grenade could still do that if it's bolted shut, probably. Am I just being retarded?

Until you realize the Leopard 2 goes faster and has longer range

Yeah, you're not getting through the hatch. My dad was a tanker in the 70s and I'll never forget when we were watching xxx:state of the union together. He had an autistic breakdown when a bunch of coons used a grinder to get through the hatch.
>>
>>33925361
Guy from my high school got killed by a hatch
>>
>>33925325

yes
>>
>>33925368
How many of those hatch fuckers did he take with him?

Til Valhalla

>No use running from an M1A1 -- you'll just die tired.

wouldn't that be "die tracked?"
>>
>>33925325
Assuming you get past the 1500 degree exhaust on the back. You'd need to avoid the machine gun fire from his friendly tanks. Then plant explosives around the turret, a blowtorch and a jackhammer wouldn't even dent the armor or get the hatch open.
>>
>>33925325

That might work on an M60 (policed used that methood to take out a rogue one IIRC), but if the Abrams is running you would cook yourself alive trying to get on the back. Thing runs hot.
>>
>>33925288
abrams doesn't have tires
>>
The T90 can be produced at a third of the price, and without the chobham they're somewhat equal.
>>
>>33925325
>open the hatch
It's >1cm inch steel bar locking the 1.5 inch thick armored hatch it from the inside. Your not getting in w/o a thermal lance or a shaped charge.

Until you realize the Leopard 2 explodes catastrophically when hit.
>>
>>33925325
You've made it to the top of the tank, now you're desperately trying to fuck up the hatch and suddenly another abrams fires a whiff of literal grapeshot at you, what do?
>>
>>33926850
Return fire with my 40-gun fifth-rate battleship, but it has M1 turrets in place of the cannons
>>
>>33925325
>Am I just being retarded?

If you have to ask this question, the answer is yes by default.
>>
>>33926800
>explodes catastrophically when hit
Jesus Christ...story?
>>
>>33926893
It's a tank.

They all fucking do it with blowout panels or not.

All blowout panels do is reduce the chance of catastrophic failure.
>>
>>33926893
>>33926903
Abrams has blowout panels for the entire ammunition storage whereas leo only has them for the turret storage, if the hull storage kabooms then RIP
Does this mean the leo is absolute shit tank? Yes, according to /k/ids, not so much in real life
>>
>>33925288
No use driving an M1A1--you'll only drown tired.
>>
>>33926903
Look at videos of Abrams being "destroyed", the bustle goes up in flames but the crew still climbs out fine. Only time I've ever seen an Abrams with the turret detached was one that had the turret blown out by the force of an IED.
>>
>>33926903
So much for muh german engineering.
>>
>>33926916

I don't mean to be that guy, but statistically speaking the Leopard 2 has the worst performance per capita of any 3rd-generation western MBT to see battle. The Challanger 2, having the most modern hull design conversley has the best, with the only tank completely destroyed having been done so by the cannon of another Challanger 2.
>>
>>33925288
Or you can just get RPG29 and destroy it
>>
>>33925288
It just gonna run out of fuel
or cross small bridge
or small river
>>
>>33925437
not to de-tracked from the thread but maybe there could be a dis-track-tion to help you escape?
>>
>>33926873
>Fifth rate
>Not 1st rate with more than 100 130mm armata killing cannons
Why are you setting yourself up for failure?
>>
>>33926893
Turks are shit tankers
>>
>>33926800
this is a2 by the way tank for tankvstank batle
a6 could have more chances surviving a tow missile
