it's a milspec WindhamWeaponry trigger I switched springs on and did some polishing. got it down to about 3.75, good enough for hunting. it was about 10 pounds with some nasty creep.
and the recoil is noticeably heavier and sharper. it doesn't have a m. device and everything else I've shot has a muzzle break. cycles well.
Whats the deal with modern AR bad reliability memes? My boss is constantly shitting on DI AR15s because he says theyre unreliable, and has had personal experiences where theyve jammed repeatedly. He was using a brand new Daniel Defense AR.

went in to buy pic related today until I started noticing this stupid lip on the bottom of the rail and am pretty convinced it will interfere with my suppressor.
anyone have one of these with the mlok rail?
>>33924674
Was it having that issue before you polished it down?
As far as your buffer I'd say leave it if it cycles well. If it's too loud I'd grease the inside of the tube (I usually do).
Maybe put a comp on it?
does anyone know if staples sells thermal compound
>>33924704
Does your suppressor go past the threads on your barrel?
Does it attack to a muzzle device?
>>33924674
You realize polishing can fuck stuff up?
>>33924714
yeah it's a dead air, their suppressors sit a little over the main part of the muzzle device. it's to the point where I feel like it might clear it but by so little that even barrel whip would cause the suppressor to crash into the rail.
>>33924746
check and see the inner diameter of the DD rail, maybe the rail can fit over the suppressor
>>33924063
Yes, the meme magic is real. No twang.
>>33924722
yeah, didn't do it on the regular safety. only the ambi. it's just weird, the hammer falls to about 3/4 of the way but doesn't touch anything. need to reset it though.
>>33924709
it worked right with a reg safety, post polish with regular and now it does the weird hammer thing with the ambi safety. you really need the ambi for the stupid commie grips. and the spring and buffer are greased, it almost sounds like the spring isn't long enough and it is rattling after the lugs lock up on the bolt. I don't have any damage to the buffer from the retainer pin but the face of it seems to have been hit by the bcg hard enough to leave a mark.
but it shoots good, cycles into a nice neat pile so now all I need is a shitload of copper bullets to fuck with.
Where's a good place to buy a nxs 2.5-10 that's not opticsplanet?
>>33924912
I am gonna guess you did something when you polished it
>>33924746
>>33924704
Dead air devices don't functionally extend back past the thread shoulder. The flash hider has a wrench flat which eats up about 1/8" from the thread shoulder to the back of the suppressor, and the brake fits near as makes no difference right to the edge of the thread shoulder. There's about 1/32" overlap past the shoulder.
tl;dr It won't interfere, but even if it does you can just put a spacer shim behind it.

$345 for 1k steel .223 and 1k steel 9mm
Can someone recommend a decent cheap (<$50) case? It's just for a single 36" AR. I'd prefer something hard, though I know at this price point "hard" is relative, just want something a bit more protective than the soft cases I have. than/k/s!

Anyone ever use one of these?

im kind of anal when it comes to traveling, i like for everything to have its own compartment and take up as little space as possible.

dont give me that bullshit "oh my time is worth money" if you are on 4chan you literally have no excuse. hell i shitpost and reload, i built most of my lower earlier while talking shit.
>>33926324
I like reloading for 357/44 and rifle. When I can get 9 and 45 wolf cheap that's good enough. It snows here so picking up brass sucks.
>>33926323
yeah a lot of the cases out there force you to compromise. really the only way to get exactly what you want is to make it yourself or custom made. but is it worth the time, effort and $? or is it more logical to just settle on something that's not perfect for you but will work ok...
>>33926230
Not going to invest in reloading. I don't have a place the time, or money to get into it.

>>33926497
i keep telling him.
oh and the classic turret is cheaper now its $193 and comes with almost everything els he would need to reload.
but its whatever man lol just let them suffer.
>>33926538
Reloading is a HUGE money saver. I reload 9 at under $0.10 per, but I also cast. Even without cast it's still at least 50% cheaper than factory, especially when you consider I get to build what I want in my round for my specific gun instead of shooting some shitty aluminum or steel case shit at $0.25 per. It's worth the initial investment. However, just like with all other gun things, it requires practice and responsibility. Do your research.
If you lack space, you can get a Black & Decker Workmate which takes up like 5 feet width at most. Don't sell your brass, that stuff is gold, so is lead.
>>33926538
>_> yea ok.
just keep the brass, you'll need it.
>>33926436
I took a look at the 36" plano case and it seemd good, especially for $70 and then it hit me- i bought this case already. I remember getting it, opening the box, and returning it immediately. The funny thing is, i dont remember why. Maybe too heavy or flimsy or something.
>>33926545
I meant buying the pieces separately, not a kit. Some of the Lee accessories suck ass, like their scale, calipers, and the auto-disk powder measure. I'm talking just the press, dies, case trimmer, auto-drum measure, safety primer, toolheads, etc. It probably does cost less, I'm just rattling off a number, and somewhat including the cost of actual reloading materials.
>>33926557
im reloading my 9mm at $0.12/round and i dont cast.
but i also get deals since i live right next to a huge online retailer and dont pay hazmat.
its going to suck ass when i move soon...
Well I was going to go to the range today but then I remembered the next Rising Storm 2 beta starts today too. I probably shouldn't be shooting anymore anyways because I'm flying next week and my airport does the hand swabs and air chamber to check for bomb/gun residue.
>>33926570
the scale and power measure does suck....mines kinda wonkedy...and i have to weigh my shit constantly.
ill get a new one soon.
>>33926485
I got one, the cheaper $100 "bumpfire" brand one. Its flimsy but it works. They all work the same, some are just better made. I think the fostec is supposed to be the best in terms if fit and finish but ive never handled one.
Ill say this though- its definitely fun fir a little while and people who havnet shot one before enjoy it but its gets old really fast.

>>33926574
I haven't done the math on my cost, but it's probably closer to $0.05/round, I just wanted to use $0.10 as a balllpark. I live right next to Berry's Bullets HQ so they're cheaper from Sportsman's Warehouse than online or other places I've been, and I'm close to Rocky Mountain Reloading so I get discounts from him, too. Lead is getting hard to find, but I make do. I use relatively expensive powder/primers though (CCI primers, Hodgdon CFE powder) so I could bring my cost down even further. I have collected a lot of brass, too, well over 20K in 9mm
>>33926589
I use a RCBS scale and Lyman calipers. Definitely worth the money to have them be reliable. It's hard to read the gauge style calipers and the Lee scale system is not very intuitive.
>>33923782
What does /k/ think of Phase 5 AR parts? Want to get their M-Lok handguard because its A E S T H E T I C and matches my Cobalt receiver. Never used M-Lok before, I'm only familiar with Keymod and picatinny, does that limit my options for mounting accessories? Or are there converters?

Reman 9mm is 14 cpr plus shipping. I just got some brand new 9mm for 18cpr. You really gotta be coming in under 10 cpr reloading to make it worth it imo?
>>33926611
I share 800 sq feet with a roommate. Simply no space.
>>33926646
5 cpr to reload 9mm is definitely worth it.
>>33926696
I have never seen 9 that cheap in store, and buying online has to be in bulk to justify the shipping and shit. Is it aluminum or steel case by chance? Reloading is brass. Like I said I used $0.10 as a ballpark. Definitely under that, and it could be even cheaper if I was willing to build another load (which is somewhat a pain due to my press, but whatever)
>>33926592
Well I don't wanna pay $100 for something shit and flimsy that'll fall apart. I just want a comparison between the $300 one and the $500 one. I tried searching for one on Google and YouTube with no results. I also don't know of any other brands, I just now started looking into it.
>>33926718
Just saw 14 cpr brass case copper jacketed reman 9mm. $20 flat rate shipping on 1k rounds.
I just bought brand new brass case copper jacketed 9m for 18 cpr. 1k rounds, plus 1k rounds .223 with $26 shipping total.
Like I said earlier in the thread I found 1k reman brass case copper jacketed 9mm for 14 cpr, 1k, $140 total, plus 1k reman .223 brass case copper jacketed 24 cpr for $240 total plus $20 shipping for $400 shipped.
>>33926740
Even at that price, reloading is still cheaper, but factory is not guaranteed to run well with every gun. I guess the difference is how well it runs. Even known brands like Winchester USA Forged stuff sucks ass. I've never heard of Reman until now. With reloading, you can make a round that fits the exact bore diameter, exact headspacing, and use just powder to actuate the gun without wasting any and getting un-burnt powder. Some guns won't work with some primers as well, you can find which ones work for your guns and use them. That's the beauty of it. It's all custom.
Holy shit in 8 days it's Letsgo's birthday!

Not real sure about how sturdy the phase 5 stuff is. /arg/ will probably trash it if you put any rail on that's not the Holy Trinity of the Three. But if you like it I'd go for it. Report back to us how well the rail is madr and how well made it is. M lok is superior to keymod and there are plenty of accessories out there for it.
