How would war between these two countries go? Let's assume neither side use nukes.

The Spetznaz would beat US miltary by a lot yes

>>
It absolutely depends on where it takes place.

The invading force gets REKT no matter the scenerio.
>>
>>33922868
The U.S. would win. Russia doesn't have the capacity to mount an invasion of North America.
>>
USA has much better force projection, and by and large better infantry.

Russia has much better air defenses and anti ship batteries, as well as conscripts that DGAF and Special Forces that even further do not give a fuck.

US would win, but both sides would have extremely heavy casualties.

Russian anti-air and ship defense is quite immense despite having generally a lackluster military and would pose quite a problem for the US. In the end, the US force projection, NATO allies, and ultimately military funding and resources would win out.

Neither side could successfully invade the other- in reality it'd be a stalemate, though obviously the US has better force projection. I would say Russians are more used to war though, as the public wouldn't give up after a regiment died.

Honestly, this.

Though the scenario would go poorly for both sides, Russia's economy is a major factor in all of this.

Modern Russian equipment on display in Syria is less than impressive.
>Low number of smart munitions deployed - even for missions that would benefit from their usage
>inaccurate/indiscriminate strikes even with the newer model KH-55 derived missiles
>personal equipment is outdated (showpiece units are well-equipped but that's not the bulk of their forces)
>poor performance of Russian air defenses against the few Israeli incursions (though I'll grant this COULD be intentional)
>Aged tank forces
>Ageing air force, few truly 4+ fighters in service
>Ageing navy
>Poor sensor fusion, force integration

These are all factors that come from small military budgets. It doesn't mean fighting them will be a curb-stomp but it does mean a significant advantage for the USA.
>>
>>33922868
Memes all the way
literally everybody knows america would win
Its not even a contest
they have way better material and alot more of it
>>
All memes and military fanboyism aside. The US would win in a conventional war against Russia.
The US has a much larger defense budget, more military bases globally, the most powerful navy in the world, a larger population as well as a much more powerful economy and larger industrial capacity. A more "fair" 1v1 scenario would be the US vs the EU.
>>
>>33922868
It depends on who is doing the invading, in both cases however Russia would end the war completely bankrupt and the US would enter a deep recession.
>>
>>33924137
>Implying the US wouldn't just sell more debt and delay a recession for another 20 years
>>
>>33924137
in order for it to be a non nuclear conflict, both parties would have to invade.
>>
No contest the USA.

Russia just doesn't have the economy to support a conventional war. Best case scenario for Russia in a Russian Vs. US conflict is that Russia gets occupied in the russian partisans engage in a guerrilla war till the US decides its not worth it.
>>
>>33922924
>Special Forces that even further do not give a fuck.

I don't think Special Forces are very important in a conventional war, but man, Alpha group seems to be fucking ruthless.

This is a very unrealistic assumption, since the use of nukes against a large conventional attack is the cornerstone of Russian military doctrine.
>>
>>33922868

>>

Is Russia's navy even a factor outside of the Black Sea?
>>
>>33923022
Anybody got a source on that watch?
>>
Okay so I have a question. Alot of this has to do with Russia's economy, strong economy can be coralated with population size and geographical area (ie bug country plus hundreds of millions = good economy) so why is Russia's so shit? They are a massive country with a fair population size, and they have have to have massive oil reserves in Siberia and parts of the artic sea they control. Why is Russia's nearly third world?
>>
>>33925686

How is this even a question? Russia's economy is shit. The U.S spends almost 10 times as much on their military. Just look at Syria now. First of all, almost none of that pertains to training. Cite why the training is bad, current training that is, not a war some fifty some odd years ago.

As for your greens.

>let women into the military
Rest of NATO lowered standards for women and Rus lets them in too.

>lower standards for the special forces
Gotta sauce that claim. The devil got to cite scripture, ya know.

>let mentally sick into the military
Implying the others don't. Also cite.

>training only takes 9(NINE) weeks
Time and training doesn't necessarily correlate, nor causation. Also cite that claim bitch.

>couldn't win afghanistan
Afghanistan wasn't lost. Winning hearts and minds is a whole different aspect that can't simply be fixed with rockets and bombs.

>couldn't reliably hold iraq
Did we want to?

>lost vietnam
Lost hearts and minds. We pulled out simply because we didn't care anymore at that point.

>infantry cry when being mortared
One incident, and implying other countries haven't.

>most servicemen are in it because welfare queens
I didn't know doing service and getting paid for it was welfare.

>lost most, if not all cross-nation tournaments and challenges

Gotta cite your claims man.

Here's the scenario I see playing out:

A two front war, much like WW2. Russia decides to invade Eastern Europe to capture former glory of the Soviet Union. Initially, NATO gets BTFO by ground forces.

When the US finally gets there:

The US Air Force completely fucking annihilates their air power relatively quick. United States establishes air superiority using the 5th Gen Platforms, and supports with 4th gen. The US then bombs the holy fuck out of their missile defense system with little to no casualties. This is over the pacific and in Europe.

Russia's Navy is fairly pathetic, and the US Navy quickly takes control of the pacific, as well as contains what remains of the Russian Navy to the black sea.

US Special Forces could BTFO spetznaz every day, but the average ground trooper Ivan wins by a long shot. The average US soldier is too busy getting briefings on not raping anyone, killing themselves, using PC language, or not driving drunk to become an effective fighting force. Being heavily limited by ROE, and despite the US Air and Naval superiority, the fight to beat back the Russians with ground forces is a long and arduous task. Eventually, the United States would win after a prolonged ground war, with there being heavy casualties on both sides. The US would most likely not push into Russia, but just completely cripple their ability to continue to wage a war.

Really wish we could get along to do pic related
>>
nobody considers that china has the monopoly of rare earths matters, and russia could process those polluting agriculture destroing materials in siberia, while america biggest mine for them is in fucking california? run your muh technology with no tech inside

>How would war between these two countries go? Let's assume neither side use nukes.

Russia would be crushed beyond belief first in the air then on the ground.
>>

Russia would be crushed within months
>>
Right now, it wouldn't even be a contest. The U.S. wouldn't even need to fire a single bullet to crush Russia. Once Putin's buddies realize the only place they can spend money is in Russia things are going to change REALLY quickly. Russia is a mafia state, and while the don has power, he's not all powerful.
>>
Let's face it, with the media/general American public being as liberal as it is, I don't think America will ever win another war solely because of anti-war sentiment. WWII was our last victory, before everyone turned into pussies.

russians are "conscripted" for mandatory government conditioning, and a substantial portion of their forces are literally national guard weekend warrior level soldiers

you at least have to suck it up and sign your soul away to be a US soldier, not that it's a hard decision if you're desperate

also GED waivers stopped happening in 2012 for dropouts

Also this, before Russia stopped making casualty reports public. They already lost 3000+ Russians, why haven't they beaten a bunch of (according to Russian propaganda) back water slovs that live in a non-country? Hell the 3000+ figure was from the first year. God only knows how much it is now.

>Let's assume neither side use nukes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_doctrine_of_Russia

Under the new doctrine, Russia continues to develop and modernize its nuclear capability. "Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in response to the use of nuclear and other types of weapons of mass destruction against it or its allies, and also in case of aggression against Russia with the use of conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is threatened."

Exactly this. Because if, God forbid, the war will actually start, that will be like:

"Nuclear launch, detected... Nuclear launch detected..." and swiftly turn into "everyone dead" scenario. And, no, there won`t be any "fallout-style" post-nuclear wasteland adventure, kid. So, /k can bitch whatever it like about "who win". In actual war of superpowers, there will be no winners.
>>
>>33928663
oh, you are sadly mistaken if you think the US would apply limited ROEs against Russia in case of war.
>>
In a conventional war, one clear notable conflict in doctrine is that US infantry are almost obsessively reliant on air support to attack hard targets or entrenched positions, while Russkie (motorized) infantry want to carry around as much ground-based AA to try and deny that exact airborne threat from being a factor. A war between the two in terms of holding territory might be fairly significantly influenced by which side can overcome their opponent's big offensive/defensive toy.

American public is pampered compared to russian poplation. US wouldn't be able to gather up resources (let alone voluntary manpower) necessary to wage conventional war against any major power. Democrats would whine about the amount of people killed and republicans would whine about having to pay higher taxes necessary for the military to wage successful war. This is and has always been the reason why US has lost to fucking rice farmers and goat herders hiding in caves. The left is bunch of pussies and hippies and the right is unwilling to sacrifice their a single dollar from their own pockets.

>>
This is a stupid ego-wank question.

The US has more money, industrial capacity, and over twice the manpower to call into service. It's air force and navy is also significantly larger and capable.

The Soviet Union was a threat on par because it could call up these resources from a hundred satellite states it controlled, not Russia is isolated.

The only reasonable question would be 1 US army infantry division vs 1 Russian Army Infantry division etc.

Here's the deal with the Spetsnaz: They're special forces, meaning there's not a whole lot of them, despite the fact that they are highly trained. The use of special forces alone cannot win a war. It's like saying the US can win this hypothetical war with the Navy SEALS.
