I just happened to be regularly trolling the gunbroker website for Czs and noticed some supplier flooded it with at least 60 Cz 75 compacts. They're reasonably priced at $399.99 starting bid, with two options for shipping being $35 for 2nd day and $25 for priority plus whatever your FFL charges the transfer for.
Plus there's a Short Rail if anyone's interested in bidding on that themselves.
So.....Cz thread.

My P-09 has an odd quirk, and I'm not sure if it's just a CZ thing or not.

But basically when I have the decocker installed and use it, I notice a very faint click from my hammer when I put my thumb on it to fully cock it again. Slightly pulling the trigger also causes the same tiny click to ring out. When I hold the hammer and slowly let it fall to half-cock, that click doesn't happen when I pull it back again.

Anybody know what that is?

They look pretty beat, and they're not cheap either.
I'd bite at 350, maybe even 375... but bidding starting at 400? Fuck no.

I miss the days before CZ became a fetishized cult brand, back when you could get them new for 350.
Nowadays, go for a new Tanfoglio instead - I humbly think they're better guns too.

I wouldn't say they look totally beat but I do agree that 400 is a bit high as a starting price for these auctions.

I wish there were more 75Bs on the surplus market. CDI's stock is almost always just pre-B, and I don't really want to lose magazine compatibility by picking up the older frame design.

>>33924179

>I just want something to complement my scorpion sbr
Just grab an SP-01 from KYGunco and be done with it senpai.
>>
>>33924385
I've heard two reasons given:
One, it protrudes just far enough that pushing the muzzle into a surface will push the slide back enough to break the gun down.
Two, it keeps the weight just under some limit for some competition.

Bud's gun shop has some I believe. Unless the shenanigans they pulled bothers you, there's that option.
As far as your magazine capatability is concerned, I have a '91 Pre B and new production mags work in it. However the same series production run didn't like the new mags though. So it'll vary.
>>
>>33924497

Top tier competition gun.

Out of the box they are G2G for 90% of people who compete. You can make some changes and you'll hit 95%, and you can go full custom and hit 99%. It's a tremendous gun.
>>
>>33924497
The shadow 2 is basically the best out of the box competition gun you can buy.
>>
>>33924728
Hell, I just took a dremel and took about 1mm of material off the magazine well of my 1990s Pre-B and now it'll take 16 round mags just fine.

17 and 19 rounders with the plastic base plates don't work still, though.
>>
>>33925479
>19 rounders with the plastic base plates don't work still, though.

For me that's an issue unfortunately, I've got a handful of them already and only plan to acquire more. Such is life.

Out of curiosity, what's preventing them from working? I find it kinda odd that only the larger capacity magazines dont work for you.
>>
>>33922623
>currently debating between a CZ P07 or getting an Arex that doesn't have near the history CZ has behind it
>Constantly wondering if there's something else i should be looking at instead
>saving up cash and constantly researching just shows me even more handguns I want and doesn't make it any easier.

I mean I'm still saving up for a good CC 9mm but it's looking like it's going to be the P07 first, then I'll probably get an Arex afterwards just because worst case scenario I know I can trust the CZ, but still. I'm also considering a P01 and the Rami if I could ever find one. I mainly just want a DA/SA pistol built for duty work and clearly meant to last.

It's more about just agonizing over which one I buy first. Ever since I got my little CZ 82 I've had a serious fascination with CZ pistols and have always wanted a modern one.
>>
>>33923985

>>33925479

if you do get them, make sure you replace all the springs, factory cz springs don't have the greatest reputation as is, and who knows what those guns have been through.
Also check the slide stop for any extreme wear, cz slide stops take a lot of abuse through design and people who shoot tons for competition usually comment on the slide stop snapping.
Also get either Cajun Gun Work's firing pin retaining pin or CZCustom's solid retaining pin. The factory double roll retaining pin gets beat the fuck up.

Other than that, make sure the rails on the frame isn't beat to utter shit from someone feeding it +P and not lubricating properly.
>>

Help a fellow anon interested in buying his first CZ pistol. Thinking of getting the Urban Grey SP-01 Tactical in 9mm, but wanted input on holster options. I like the look of the Alex and Ryan Designs kydex holsters, but wanted to know if any of you had experience with them. Nearly $100 dollars and close to a months wait time is alot for a holster, even though this gun would be worth it.
Also, nwvwr carried a full size, all metal gun before(cc a Glock 17, but wanted some diversity hence hammer fired full metal CZ) and I was wondering what it's like to carry one. I'll get a good holster for it, and I currently use a Tuff Products 1.5" gun belt, so I should be good to go right?

Maybe it was a shitty CZ, or maybe... just maybe... the Turks actually put out a decent product.

Be wary of those promag 30-rounders, though. They work fine in full-size CZs but I'm the compacts, it can be finicky.

Would've gone with a .22lr, but a CZ isn't a bad choice for a first, especially a PO7. Carried one as a duty gun when I worked for Brinks, smooth shooter, comfortable in the hand, and is generally reliable when you need it. Just remember to practice with it.

You did good, m8000.

In a related story, I was waiting on my background check, one of the gun counter monkeys was going around asking the other monkeys to tell him what was wrong with the pistol he had. The milling on the rear dovetail was so poor the rear sight was canted. They had a good laugh and remarked "It's a Canik, what do you expect?"

>"That's why you don't buy Turkish."

I am consistently putting shots either to the east or south-east of where I am aiming.
How to fix?

>>

it's a browning action based pistol. they all operate the same way.

ramis are a pain in the ass to find anyway, i'm not sure if they're actually OOP or just make runs so small that kel-tec laughs
>>
Bought a p01 awhile back for $550. It came with calicucked 10 rd mags. I see some c markings here or there does this mean there is something inherently flawed to fit cali regs? Wish i lurked these tjreads more when i got it but at the time i knew i wanted a cz and this one just felt right.
>>
I am having a hard time getting more than 16 rounds into my SP-01's mags.

They are brand new, and when I hit 16 it's like pressing up against a brickwall. I can barely make the round budge, and the bullets just slip around on top of each other when I try to press the other round into place.

I've never had this problem before with other pistols, and it is seriously making me consider buying a loader to get over this hump.
>>

just suck up the $30some and get the uplula, that's what i did. no point in destroying your thumbs just preparing to shoot.

welp p07 is banned in california so i am cucked. the only dude that is selling cz's near me has a compact 75 for 550 brand new which is pretty good deal i guess esp. in california. question: when it comes to cz's or pistols in general, how do i find out if their magazines are capable of being modular? meaning a sig's mag with fit in a cz as long as it is 9mmP. sorry for being a cali-cucked noob.

no no no.
it takes cz75 series mags (for you the 10rd ones obv), that's it. that's pretty much true of any gun except some carbines that are deliberately built to take popular mags (glock, beretta).

unfortunately cz75 mags (particularly the factory ones) are fairly expensive ($35-40), but the 3rd party ones come to like $23 i think and are reasonably well made

It was at a LGS's used gun table. Had a $500 tag on it, but it was beat up and had ugly grips, and the employees were dumb and didn't know how to break down a CZ for me to see the guts. Long story short I convinced them it was in rough shape but I'd give them $350 because I really wanted a CZ, and they took it. Just had to order the black grips and clean it up.

What >>33933445 said. They're not too hard to find around $400, and worth every penny

Can you guys help me? Im in the market for my first handgun. Would the cz P0-7, P0-9 or sp-01 be good first picks, and how do they compare to a glock 19 or m9 Beretta
>>
>>33935459
>Would the cz P0-7, P0-9 or sp-01 be good first picks, and how do they compare to a glock 19 or m9 Beretta
All are superior to the Glockamole and the Spaghetti gun.
>>
>>33935646
what does /k/ exactly have against the glocks? I see a lot of hate for them but not many reasons why
>>
>>33935459

P-09 and P-07 are polymer partially, and both are good. The SP-01 is fully metal, and also good. Since it's your first gun, you won't notice any real sort of difference in performance between the three. Just handling. The SP-01 is significantly heavier than the other two, and it feels that way. You literally can feel the: 'Fuck off' in it when you hold it and point it at something. I'd go with a P-09 since it's your first gun, or if you really want a full metal gun - go for the SP-01. Maybe see if a local range has either you can try out and compare. Most of the places around me have a P-09. On the whole there really isn't that much mechanically different from them (in how you shoot them, utilize them, disassemble them, clean them. etc.) They all come with two mags and night sights. So it's up to you, really. You're going to spend more on ammo pretty quickly once you get addicted to shooting them.
>>
>>33935459
>SP-01
>Beretta 92
The CZ feels slimmer in the hand. As a pistol n00b, that's what you'll notice first.

CZ likes to put stiff recoil springs in their SP-01s and P-01s. If you don't have good gripping fundamentals or are just weak, it'll snap your sights down when it cycles. I don't remember that being an issue with the Beretta.
>>
>>33936323

Also this.

The activation pressure on an SP-01 is in double-action is something like 14 or 16 pounds.
>>
>>33935781
Most people don't care for their ergonomics, lots of plastic parts, and glocknade memes.

Also some people like myself really don't care for striker fired pistols and the "safety" features that they come with.

Personally I actually really liked the glock 19 in my hand, but I wear a size 8 in gloves and have small hands. I told the store employee if he could find me one with a manual safety I'm sold but since they don't come with that I passed. That, and the fact that a P07 is a $100 cheaper out the door, kind of made me question why I would get a glock in the first place. With that extra cash I can get a couple more CZ mags, and I was gonna throw down a good amount of cash on a custom kydex holster anyways, so it's not like I would've saved anything there on the glock.

Plus DA/SA feels better, CZ's have better ergos, a proven track record, and overall everything I've read says the CZ is much nicer in the hand while shooting. I would demo them at a range, but there is nothing nearby to do that with, so I have to go off of gun reviews online sadly.
>>
>>33935459
I'm in this boat as well, and I'm a Califag so my handgun options are limited.

Are current-production CZ-75s any good? They kind of appeal to my inner fedora, and any extra weight doesn't really matter since the gun will just be a range toy.

>>
>>33931841

They exist but you have to drop some coin.
>>
>>33936432
It's a common term around here, but kind of hard to explain.

I guess it's that pseudo-nostalgic part of some of us that likes things because they're obsolete and/or obscure, even when they're objectively worse than newer options. The 75 appeals in the same way that using a Zippo instead of a Bic or wearing a mechanical wristwatch instead of checking the time on your smartphone or driving a classic Alfa-Romeo instead of a new Honda does. The most extreme sufferers of this kind of affliction are known to wear fedoras, hence the name.
>>
>>33936668

You mean like a classic CZ-75? I guess, but like it's no worse than a Hi-Power (it's kind of better, technically), and the newer CZ-75 models are quite literally some of the best handguns on the market. There's a reason why pretty much everyone who does competition shooting uses a Shadow, Czechmate, or some variant thereof.
