Holy fucking shit I found unissued army boots from the 50's
>>33916829
74$ shipped, they may look like in great condition but I may add huberts shoe oil a couple times like that other pair I have just to make sure the leather is reconditioned
Anyone know any good brands of shoe polish? Sure Kiwi is nice as for this odd shoe cream I bought but does anyone have any better recommendations?

Kiwi is the way to go.
Correct me if i'm wrong but for dating these boots, are the first set of numbers on this boot the year it was made? '53 sounds about right?

>>33922612
It's a tall order, I mean possibly you could look at MEP/vista (the MTP knock-off). Alpenflague might fit but it's more red than tan. It's tricky because a lot of patterns that fit that description are digital, are you sure you wouldn't consider some subtle digital like chinese Type 07?

>>33932362
Not difficult. You just need patience and money.
>>33932362
Pretty much this >>33932382. Legit stuff is all over eBay. Paying over $150 for a general issue piece is too much.
>>33932070
Keeping the fly open is actually recommended procedure for long ruck marches - improved ventilation helps avoid swamp crotch.
>official or custom?
The M90-inspired "Fisherman suit" or "Condom" was issued on a trial basis sometime in the 1990s. It was almost universally disliked by troops and never became the standard uniform.
>>33916834
Oiling them first is smart.
If you really want to be them last, make them parade shine so do a few base coats of shoe polish and after that spend your whole weekend making them shine like patent leather. That's the military way of treating new unissued boots. Watch youtube videos if you don't know how to make them like mirrors.
After that mirror like finish is done, they will always be easy to condition as they have a rock solid polish coat that only needs touchups instead of always wearing out to the bare leather.

Reposting here in case anyone is eyeing one of those CWU 36P summer flight jackets from Varusteleka.
The nomex it's made from is heavy stuff, everything is in good/very lightly worn condition. They said shoulder tabs might be removed and the one that was removed on mine came packed in a pocket, so it can be sewn back on. No names/identifying marks on it other than black marker on the tag so that's a plus for me. Fit is retro as fuck, price was a little steep but it's rising.
>>33951126
They're nice mild weather jackets. Slightly more insulative thana hoodie. Not as wind-resistant as you'd think they'd be though.

OG utilities are some of the sexiest/comfiest uniforms in the last century.
>>33963939
Couldn't tell you any US sellers that do, European ones might though.
There were a few generations of uniforms, mostly consisting of a parka and trousers.
There are minor differences between the models, and a couple of much rarer tanker uniforms as well.
Apart from those; canteen cover, breadbag, rucksack, e-tool cover, gas mask bag, first aid bag, zeltbahn, and VERY rare factory made M43s, of which maybe two have ever been found. Also M43's and helmet covers made from old zeltbahns.
They have been sharply rising in value however.

Hey guys I was thinking of getting the Austrian M65 from Ivan. What size should I get so I don't get swamped in it? I'm 5'9" with a 39" chest if it helps.
>>33976309
Assuming your own measurements are accurate, a 96-100/III-IV
>>33973493
From a poorly advertised South African auction, where it was listed simply as an "Army Tracksuit".
>>33976446
well shit sent in an order for a I-II in the same chest circumference, is the length difference that great or will it be negligible?
>>33977395
IDK, they are slightly elongated to fit over things but at 5'9" you are ~69", while I-II is for people who are under 67".
Personally I would tell Ivan you made a mistake and that you meant to get a III-IV.
The size may be negligible but I wouldn't risk it.
