>>33911491
>t. guy who never heard of the Vietcong's tunnel system
>>33911491
>literally so effective at breaching fortifications that the english language still uses the phrase "undermine" to this day
Sometimes the point was the tunnel failing, anon
>>33911491
and so we dig eternal in the soil of valhalla
>>33911491
tunnels sorta rely on the fact that you cant see them
obviously if you know its there you can blow it up
>>33911491
Because every other man-made structure has lasted and will last forever, right?
>>33911491
Modern tunnels aren't deep enough.
Real tunneling has never been tried.
>>33911566
That's sapping though.
>>33913137
We must seize the means of tunneling comrades
>>33913398
My company bought one for its tunnel project
>>33913478
then two Mexican cemented themselves to death we had to shut down for awhile.
they were spraying cement and tunnel fell in on them pinning them.
They couldn't reach the cement sprayer.
Drowned in cement, and the rescue teams had to chip them free with screwdrivers.
So why don't they just put an ERA layer 5 feet under the ground so when the Bunker Buster impacts it pre-detonates?
>>33913137
>Modern tunnels aren't deep enough.
Ah yeah you just need a nuclear reactor for the air pumps and cooling.
OP is wrong though. Slit trench will always be the infantry's best friend. Tunnel is just a step on.
When we have robotic infantry they will make slit trenches to...

Nuclear tunnel bore.

Oh boy im ready
>>33911545
>t. guy who doesn't know the VC tunnels got assfucked by B-52's, tunnel snakes, napalm, and practically everything else.
Tell me more about "muh tunnels" maymay though.
>>33913560
are you?
>>33913967
>Muh nuclear tunnel boring machine
Why do you people always state it like it's a thing that exists.
>>33913478
>>33913507
Nand a project. The only two major tunnel boring projects I know of are the highway 99 tunnel in Seattle and the crossrail tunnel in Britain. Brightwater is already done and gone, but I'm certain there are more projects.
>>33914799
*name a project
>>33914564
I wonder who could be behind this post.
>>33911491
Tell that to the Israelis that complain constantly about Palestinian and Hezbollah tunnels.
>>33913518
I don't think era will defeat the several inches of steel used in the nose
>>33914564
It was a real project, got to the proof of concept stage before having its funding cut.
>>33915407
Bigger noses, bigger armor?
>>33911491
And there are those tunnels. Intact.
