The quick rundown is at first the Gen 2s were being sold with Billet trunnions. The 5k round review AKOU did was with one of these rifles. Shortly after the Gen2 AK passed AKOU's 5k round torture test PSA started selling their Gen2 AKs with inferior cast trunnions. Eventually enough people noticed that PSA did an accountant saying if you wanted billet/forged trunnions you would have to pay more.

PSA ar15s are pretty good. In the current market, ar15s give you more bang for your buck.
