https://www.tacticalassaultgearstore.com/brands/crye-precision/crye-precision-jpc-jumpable-plate-carrier.html?gclid=CK3JgOq03tMCFdgBgQodDdwLBA

That's not a thing. SAPI isn't an NIJ rating, e.g. level II, IIIa, IV, etc.

Make sure to get triple curve. It makes plates much more comfortable.

Yeah I'm learning by the fly here.

Does the rear plate need to be curved or shooters cut?
>>
>>33890098
>the rear plate
Usually people get a duplicate of the front plate for some reason, probably because most manufacturers only have one design. Theoretically you could get a large square plate for the rear, but I would still make sure it's multi-curved. Obviously your PC will only take a shooters cut plate.

Ops-Core. I've got their left handed x-nape and it worked great for innamilitary. In addition to giving left handed cheekweld it secured tighter than normal straps and made wearing NODs much easier.

>>33892446
You're missing the liner. Can't imagine wearing it without that at least.

I used to wear a patrol cap under my PASGT. It keeps the helmet from shifting around as much and helps keep it from tipping over your eyes.

There are better pad kits and upgraded 4-point strap systems, but I honestly wouldn't even invest extra cash like that into a PASGT. MICH/ACH helmets are cheap and common enough and better right out of the box. They are cut better too, especially if you ever go prone (especially in armor). PASGTs are wallhangers.

2.5llbs dry
Big heavy chest rig with integrated pockets
No modularity
I mean don't get me wrong, it doesn't like all that bad, but the design is outdated. It is all about modularity and scaling. Layering and tiering your gear. The chest rig is rather antithetical to modern gear philosophy in that sense. I mean hey, I'm talking out my ass, but honestly you can do better for the dosh.

>>
>>33894005
It really is outdated though. I was just hedging because I'm not some super operator top seal guy.

Chest rigs are supposed to be relatively light and minimal, or at least have the capability to take shit off so that they're light and minimal. I know all the built in pouches are appealing but the design is old.

Go ahead and buy it though, it seems you came here looking for confirmation rather than novel opinions.

But it isn't an ideal piece of gear.

any suggestions for a 3 day pack?
>must have enough capacity for 3 days
>preferably ranger or OD green, grey is fine
>civilian packs are fine as long as they are one of the above colors and have no reflective shit
>must place majority of weight on hips
>under $300
>>
>>33894876
Just make one. Get some silnylon in your preferred collie and some straps/padding.
If your pack weighs less with your basic necessities then you have more capacity for ammo and can travel farther.
My normal backpacking loadout for 7 days is only about 20lbs with food included. Add in a shit ton of ammo and Its still under 50lbs.

Kelty is 50L. Similar.

How are they bad? Kelty is fine and AWS is fine, if a little heavy.

I've got a Kelty 65L pack I've taken to Europe several times, Israel, countless trips within the states, and everytime I go camping in CO it comes with. It has held up just fine. They're on the cheaper end of things, but usable.

Budget

Around 100

no battle belt because manlet status 5'6" so space under a ferro slickster or mayflower kind of at a premium

I guess my idea is something that is primarily range use/innawoods

In the event of SHTF lite, I can put it on, and sort of not really conceal it under a jacket but still be able to use it

As opposed to my BFG chest rig, that while perhaps slightly more concealable is useless while concealed under jacket

Conceivably something that supports use of a pistol and allows for a rifle, rather than supports rifle and allows for pistol because I live in a city

Point remains, anyone with NV, even a single setup A2 included, is part of a /k/ minority that will naturally tend towards more expensive gear choices. It is fine, and the gear is good, but perceptions of value need to be taken into account.
You get statements like
>Kelty quality is a meme
Kelty form factor is a meme. Kelty weight is a meme. Kelty stuff is ugly. Kelty stuff isn't as durable as more expensive higher quality brands. But they're not meme quality. Their quality is up to par, the lowest acceptable par that is.

Guys, where can I get a USGI type poncho? I'd prefer it to be non-camo and unissued/new.
It doesn't have to be a legitimate army one but what it needs to do is fit a legitimate poncho liner.

I use a dump pouch. Other than my shooting buddies putting large rocks, firecrackers, and other associated shit in it, I like it. It makes policing mags after drills easier. I've been meaning to start drilling with dumping mags directly to it, but this isn't 100% necessary because dumping to the dump pouch really isn't something you do in a high speed/stress situation.

They take up minimal room folded up.

It's inferior because it doesn't fit well and regulating the straps properly is a huge pain in the ass.
Also you'll most likely need the help of someone else to close the back straps when putting it on as they'll fall too far behind for you to reach them on your own (or keep them loose enough so you just slide in from below).
Finally, the general fit with plates in is super weird because it wasn't designed primarily as a plate carrier but rather a chest rig.
I have the same combo from tasmanian tiger (Mk2 chest rig + backpanel) and its really mediocre compared to even the most basic plate carriers available today.
I made the same reasoning you're doing right now when i bought it

>oh wow this sounds like a good idea, i can keep the same setup when using it as both a chest rig AND a plate carrier! that's so comfy!

Then noticed all of the above.
Try it if you wish but you're gonna be disappointed and go back to having two separate rigs imho.

you're being a fucking idiot. I'd tell you not to buy anything until you understand what you're even looking for but I want you to waste money and live in an alley.

Curved means the plate is formed to fit a body. Shooters cut means the corners are removed for the shoulders.

Asking one or the other doesn't make any fucking sense. That's like asking "Should my car be four door or drive really fast"

IMO, spend money on your rig and stuff first. You can get perfectly good BDUs and or tactical shirts and pants for much less. A shitty rig, missing mag pouches, water, IFAK etc? That stuff is 1st priority.

Thanks for more recommendations! I'm probably going to use a cheap universal holster for most of this summer unfortunately. Curved and shooters cut are not mutually exclusive and refer to different qualities of the plate in question.

What's some decent body armour for HD use. Not really going for the shtf right now but more of a throw it on(if I had time) if i hear a bump in night(many armed home invasions in the area lately).
