If I'm stuck with current real world shit I'll be taking a legit NBC armory alongside a fuckton of normal nasty guns and explosives. God help the poor alien bastard that thinks that large open patch of occasionally slightly disturbed ground surrounding the ship is safe to cross. If what comes with me cannot kill it then the last resort would be a satellite beacon saying stay the fuck away transmitting everything that was tried and some footage of it not working. Eventually someone will develop some way to throw the planet into it's own star or something.

If I can have whatever I want I'll be taking one of these, fully loaded and ready. Orbital fire support, a large non-living military force of hundreds of thousands of droids of various types with all sorts of different capabilities, thousands of AATs, hundreds of MTTs, a horde of worker droids to build shit for me, fucktons of starfighters, I don't have to feed my crew or troops, I'm just a hyperspace jump away from home, able to carry enough food and supplies that you really don't even need to go planetside even after pacification/extermination is complete, plenty of spare blasters and other fun toys to play with, and probably a luxury suite for the owner of the ship with a great view for those times when you just want to watch a world burn while you bombard it from orbit. If somehow the initial landing force (one fully loaded C-9979 landing craft) can't beat the locals then a fuckload of turbolaser fire sure as shit will before we go to a different planet to set up shop.

I'd use sci-fi future materials to build a safely usable version of the chlorine trifluoride thrower the Nazis tried to make. That shit makes the Xenomorph's acid blood look like lemon juice.

>"It is, of course, extremely toxic, but that's the least of the problem. It is hypergolic with every known fuel, and so rapidly hypergolic that no ignition delay has ever been measured. It is also hypergolic with such things as cloth, wood, and test engineers, not to mention asbestos, sand, and water — with which it reacts explosively. It can be kept in some of the ordinary structural metals — steel, copper, aluminum, etc. — because of the formation of a thin film of insoluble metal fluoride which protects the bulk of the metal, just as the invisible coat of oxide on aluminum keeps it from burning up in the atmosphere. If, however, this coat is melted or scrubbed off, and has no chance to reform, the operator is confronted with the problem of coping with a metal-fluorine fire. For dealing with this situation, I have always recommended a good pair of running shoes."

That nine year old was a main character in the plot of a movie, of course he blew it up. Don't think the nine year old becoming space debris would have gone over all that well with the audience. Without plot armor Anakin and R2 would have been space dust.

I sincerely doubt even a special xenomorph would even be capable of figuring out a gun much less a star ship.

I personally think the reason for this is the prequel's issues with having older looking tech, because you know it should be older looking instead of looking newer then the original movies technology which is supposed to be future technology and guns.
TL;DR these prequels are making the originals not age well.

It's much worse than that. Not so much dissolving in a vat of it. More like being rapidly incinerated by an incredibly hot unquenchable toxic fire from just a splash of the stuff. Human stupidity to kick off a plot is one thing. Repeating ad nauseam sucks.

>>33892188
You forget that if you survive the extremely exothermic disintegration of your flesh as it is oxidized beyond what is normally capable in our atmosphere, and if you survive the chlorine and fluorine acid gas liquifying parts of your lungs, and you survive the fires and smoke as everything else in the room is burning to hell: you might appear to make a full recovery. Only to die from the after effects: fluorine has preferentially reacted with calcium in your blood and bones to lead to hypocalcimia; a condition that will express itself much like nerve agent poisoning.
>>
I keep this handy for close encounters - a 5.56 minigun that weighs the same as a SAW. Micro-miniguns have come a long way since Predator in the 1980s.
Add some thermobaric grenades for room clearing and emergency suicide and we're set, with some Level 3a spun polyethyene (the new Dyneema) soft armor since it's acid-resistant and stab-proof.

The other 95% of fighting? Networked motion sensors linked to redundant Claymore circles, and lots of rocket launchers and bulldozers to make nice clear killing fields.
>>
>>33892407
That is very much in the category of things I just should not know.
>>
>>33892538
Why shouldn't you know? This is very basic inorganic chemistry.

The stuff we shouldn't know: a good source of pure chlorine gas at lab scale for similar chemistry is a "chlorine generator", an enclosed gas aparatus set up much like a solvent still; but no boiling is to be effected. Instead an aqueous solution of Trichloroisocyanuric acid (AKA Trichlor, a common "pool chemical" used to chlorinate water) is titrated with 3 equivalents of hydrochloric acid. Three mol of chlorine gas is evolved per mol of Trichlor thus reacted. The remaining apparatus is constructed to condense and capture the gas, or to lead to further reaction (such as Carbon/TSP as in the case of a POCl3 reactor)

The technical assembly of a CLF3 reactor is more difficult than the average garage is capable of. If you can figure out how to make ClF3 from the cursory conditions described (without delving further into the literature) you are very well equipped and technically adept enough that you might be able to do it by intuition or trial and error alone.

It's mostly the B-1s that have that sort of issue. Even then while they are made to look like jokes in some media they're still a serious threat, otherwise there would have been no war in the first place. Without plot armor to protect them the droid army often does wreck the republic's shit. The CIS had a much bigger problem with incompetent commanders than it did with it's droids being a little on the dumb side.

Commando droids and Magnaguards would undoubtedly be onboard in good numbers if there's any worries though. A fully loaded CIS Lucrehulk battleship is actually a pretty scary thing, one of them carries an army around the size of the entire French military and only a couple thousand less tanks and a few hundred less fighter aircraft than the US military has total. It can hold even more if you decide to store additional forces in the massive cargo holds.

They're fun, depending on how hot they're loaded they range from middle-of-the-pack .44mag to sniffing the ballsweat of .454 Casull.

The compensators work quite well, it's a high pressure round. While they're less pleasant to shoot than .45acp through the same base gun there's not appreciably more muzzle climb. They're quite controllable for their power.

It's a fucking gimmick. When a sane engineer finds the point where a cartridge will blow up in a normal, reliable gun, they write a note not to go that high. Rowland takes a popular gun in said cartridge, reduces the feed ramp to the bare minimum that can feed at all, puts in a spring so stiff that regular ammo won't cycle the action, replaces the magazine spring with one twice as strong, and then adds porting or a compensator. To top it off, he then adds a tenth of an inch to regular brass and keeps the oal the same so that the retards who buy his shit don't accidentally use his rounds in an unmodified gun.

In the novel it was described as having quite the hefty recoil in comparison to the MA5, but the standard ammunition the BR55 uses has explosive capabilities, unlike the 7.62 used in the MA5. Aye. The mention of .50/12.7x99mm was in reference to the UNSC's standard-issue handgun series, not their standard-issue anti-materiel rifle. Comparing a service rifle to one of those is a bit... excessive.

>Why in god's name is that tank in the later games still called a scorpion? It looks nothing like it outside of the vague shape.

I know rite? It looks like at least somewhat of a fucking passable vehicle, barring that godfucking pintle mount MG emplacement.

The D79 Pelican, though... fucking what.

That's dumb. Acids already react with most metals. Lead is one of them. Copper, unfortunately, is not. Looking through tables of reactivity, hardness, and density, cerium is probably the best metal to use for jackets on lead core bullets. Lead is perfectly adequate for the job. Unfortunately, the really reactive metals are all too light for bullets.

Haven't seen Covenant. Assuming I don't know what terrain or xeno's I'm dealing with?
Honestly I'd bring an arsenal just like us Colonial Marines did. Something for all occasions. Hopefully I don't lose access to it like they did though.

> AA12, USAS or some other full auto, mag fed shotgun for small skittery things that attack in swarms.
> An AR style rifle in one of the 6mm calibers for general use. Less of a pike like than a full battle rifle, but still a little harder hitting than 5.56
> A belt fed GPMG to hold check points and for waves of Xenos. Mobile enough to move around though. Preferably with optional API. Maybe something like the LWMMG?
> .50 HMG. Because explosive rounds.
> A precision rifle of some kind, preferably with someone to use it. I've got no experience with long range precision shooting.
> Concussion, Fragmentation and Incendiary Grenades.
> XM25
> Explosives for when it really goes bad
>Nuke platforms in orbit. To be sure.

Basically all the options the current military has available, plus a FA shotgun for Alien Spiders. Seems like it covers most situations short of Tanks and Combined Arms

Oh and a shit ton of claymores as others have said in the thread.

Need to defend a perimeter? Claymores.
Waves coming through the halls? Claymores.
Fuckers using the Airducts? Claymores.
Going to die? Strap claymores to every surface of my body with a dead man switch, lube myself up, do my best curling impression to get into the middle of them before I explode.

i am wrong in the sense that since a light saber emits light it has to also emit heat, about what a glow stick does.

only things that come into contact with the blade (pass/break the containment field) are exposed to the energy and are "burned"
