What is the deal with this shit!?...I'm fine with Hoppe's.
>>33886068
We don't have Ballistol in my area, so I use Breakfree CLP instead.
For my bore cleaner I make Ed's Red, best shit in the world.
>>33886068
The shit works...why are you a fag?
>>33886068
In use for almost 100 years. One if the few nontoxic options out there. Good lubricant and acceptable cleaner. Useful on more than just guns. Best black powder cleaner on the market.
It's cleaning ability is less than Hoppes or Gun Scrubber, but prolonged use almost cures the gun, makes it way easier to maintain. I also like the nontoxic aspect.
7/10, worth testing if you have extra bucks
>>33886068
I accidently bought the liquid form
is a little less convenient but seems to last forever and does a good job.
I would take the smell of NO. 9 and some normal oil any day though, balistol smells like shit without good ventilation.
Tried it. Works. Tried breakfree. Works. Still use Hoppe's for the bore. But for cleaning I use Blueline gun solvent cleaner. They aren't that popular and I only saw one at one of my LGS'. Doesn't smell (not that I mind the smell of the latter) and most importantly it doesn't fuck up the finish on any surface. Even my Arsenal which has a bitch ass coating.
>>33886085
CLP is bad on polymer...but I love it for powder build up!
>>33886085
Is Amazon not a thing where you live? Who buys supplies in brick and mortar anymore?
never used Hoppes, should I? whats the difference from ballistol?
ballistol is so good maynne. smells so good i just wanna rub it on everything.
nothing cannot be cleaned with a rag, steel wool, and a bit of ballistol.
bit of rust? ballistol
need some grease? ballistol.
roachs under the sink? ballistol.
dirty hands? ballistol
dirty windows? ballistol.
smokers lung? clean that shit out with ballistol.
Life too hard lately? ballistol.
>>33886107
Checked...I'll give it a try
>>33886068
I used it for protecting my knives, tools and swords long before I ever heard of Hickok45.
>>33886068

>>33886068
>What is the deal with this shit!?
you can get it on your skin and not worry about the odd instance of cancer
i love it an put it on everything.
theres a lot of information on their website:
https://www.ballistol-shop.de/All-information-of-Ballistol-at-a-glance:_:124.html
>>33886068
best smell in the world and it works for a million different things, shit's rad
>>33886068
I love Ballistol.
It works. On everything.
the best part about ballistol is that you can cover every surface with it
>>33886068
Shit works.
Also my dick sizes favorably next to a 100ml can of it.
>>33886106
>balistol smells like shit
Holy shit apply yourself, pleb. The smell of Ballistol is god tier.
>using anything other than CLP and tetra gun grease
Spotted the newfags. Not to this board, to guns.
>>33886557
Take it easy.
>>33886557
If it was good enough for the Imperial German army AND the Wehrmacht, it's good enough for you.
I bet you only fire plastic fantastic wonderforties and don't own a single rifle with wood in it's stock.
>>33886748
I use that shit on my tools, never thought of using it on my rifles. Always just used hoppes.
>>33886761
The only wood on there is badly maintained. Be honest anon, you replaced the rest of the furniture with plastic because you let it rot, didn't you?
>>33886922
>surplus Bosnian furniture
>badly maintained
No shit
And no. It's factory arsenal, put that on because muh khyber pass
>>33886068
It works okay for literally everything, but not exceptionally for anything particular
>>33886112
>CPL is bad for polymer
>I've been showering my G17 gen 2 EDC for past half year
>pic relate
Hoppes no9 for routine bore cleaning, kg 12 for deep cleaning when groups start to open up, and eezox to oil everything.
Good cleaner, acceptable lubricant, NOT a good protectant, especially against water. If you use it, pair it with a good lubricant.
As for other uses: it's better than nothing for many things, but still far inferior to dedicated products for most of those. Don't believe the marketing (duh) or the fuddlore.
It's a good cleaner that smells nice, but it leaves my guns feeling like I just dipped them in burger grease, so I generally use CLP instead, and hoppes #9 if I really need to clean something and don't mind having my room smell for 3 days.
>>33886137
Hoppe's is just a cleaner, and you have to lube your gun afterwards if I understand correctly. Ballistol does it all.
If I'm not mistaken, it was invented by Germans as a cure-all for their guns in the first world war and was even marketed as a wound cleaner (although I don't really trust this use for it).
>>33886245
To be honest you could drink it.
It's simply medical grade parrafin oil with some minor harmless additives.
>>33888000
>>33886137
Will ballistol help with my depression and severe anxiety?
Antidepressants haven't helped and the doctors won't give me Ativan or xanax.
>>33888019
If it's that simple, couldn't I easily make my own for super cheap?
So if I want to get completely away from Hoppe's and go totally non-toxic, what's my best bet for a bore cleaner? For gun oil? For surface cleaning?
>>33888000
is there anything Ballistol can't do?
>>33888205
act
MOVE! Out of the way, clear winner here!
>>33888221
MLP > CLP
>>33888000
It works great for wound treating,
>>33888205
It can't make you drunk, while CLP should theoretical get you drunk
>>33888221
>clip
>>33888205
It can't be your gf
:(
>>33888316
You don't need a waifu when you have a raifu
>>33886106
Nah, Hoppes smells like bananas and Balistol smells like cherries. Shit's great.
I use Hoppes for bores, and Balistol for everything else. It's particularly fantastic for cleaning the cylinder face on wheelgats.
>>33886068
Hoppes is trash as is 99% of cleaning components. I stick to things like boretech and KG which clean better and in half the amount of time and effort than other cleaners. You can also clean your guns inside without killing your family.
>>33888205
You can't use it on suede.
>>33888521
>implying people still wear blue suede shoes
>>33886068
I've never tried it, but I just ordered a 16 Oz can for 20 bucks.
Kinda spendy, but I look forward to using it.
>>33886112
>>33887048
CLP is just oil right?
Is oil bad for polymer? Shit I thought it was good for it.
>>33888570
Don't you step on my blue suede shoes
I used to scoff at ballistol, but it won me over. The smell is an acquired taste.
>>33888703
>>33888749
I don't mind the smell in small doses, but when I'm scrubbing parts I have to open the garage door and let air in, shits too intense. Keeps all my milsurp from getting fuzzy barrels, so worth it.
>>33886068
Used by the Wehrmach. Has to be good.
>>33886960
You don't know what khyber pass means do you, Joebob?
>>33886068
Ballistol smells like a can of Christmas tree piss. Not for everyone.
>>33886106
I love the liquid version. I keep it in pic related - good for single drops, or squirting onto patches to wipe things down.
