John Wayne allegedly got one of AR15 designers to make .22LR rifle for him but then he had some failed venture and had to postpone it.

In The Outlaw Josey Wales, he uses cap and ball revolvers like he should - no cartridge conversions, nothing. It's cap and ball for sure.

In Pale Rider he has that Remington revolver with exchangeable cylinders, and in the Unforgiven he uses early quasi-double action revolver while many revolvers on the set are actually period-correct S&W's instead of Colts SAA, which is also a nice detail - not to mention Spencer rifle(I think it was the only Sharps ever shown in cinema).
