springfield armory was always a shit company. they stole the name of a US armory, then instead of truthfully claiming the company has been established in 1974, they change it to 1794. since their inception they put together kit guns, imported guns, or used existing and proven designs so that they don't need to waste money on R&D. also, even if the designs are proven they try to cut corners and outsource to increase their margins. at one point they outsourced majority of the 1911 parts so they couldn't legally stamp it as made in the US.

SA is probably the shittiest gun manufacturer around. it's pretty great that people finally are starting to see them for what they are.
