If you clean regularly you'll be fine. Silica packets are nice but also optional. I live in an area with very high humidity most of the year and have never had rusting issues with firearms so long as i wipe them down with a rem oil wipe every month or so.

Gun lockers are just fine for securing your firearms away from kids and thieves they lack the insurance that safes provide. A quality safe will protect your valuables from house fires as well as theft and that's where I find that the win out over the gun lockers ultimately. I'd say that it's ultimately up to the buyer to choose whether or not they want that extra bit of insurance or not.
