I'm actually familiar with the gun laws of different countries in Europe, the overwhelming majority require you to jump through all kinds of hoops to get the permission from the police to purchase and own a firearm. The UK may be winning the gun control special olympics, but the rest of Europe isn't far behind. (with a few exceptions, that as mentioned before, aren't interested in Americans moving there)

And yes, I'm aware of the US immigration laws and policies. At least the US laws theoretically allow foreigners of any color. The same cannot be said for all of Europe.

Switzerland, nor any member state, have even begun to try to implement said guidelines. Switzerland especially has a fuckton of exceptions in the guidelines, but even normal member states have huge leeway in interpreting the guidelines.

Obviously, I'm rather pessimistic for my country, but it will all be our own fault and the fault of our own politicians. The majority of europeans have little exposure to firearms outside what they see in the hands of cops & soldiers.
