I know he wasn't lying because there was once a picture but I have no idea what happened to it after grandma died. He came back an alcoholic and only lived to 70 before his liver gave out. It is a well documented fact that many GIs "liberating" the camps found starved survivors and subsequently overfed them to death.

Coupled with the fact that many GIs were given tours of the camps where they "saw the bodies", it behooves one to believe that those bodies all over the camps were in fact the very same Jews that were overfed earlier.

It is not a likely practice that the Germans would leave rotting bodies laying around their camps on purpose.

No camps were liberated while the German garrisons remained and actively defended it; virtually every camp was liberated well after it had been abandoned by its garrison, and many garrisons had sought to exterminate as many of the occupants as possible before leaving. The reason there were piles of bodies present in the camps upon liberation was because the garrisons hadn't bothered to bury them before leaving, and certainly couldn't do so after they had left. It's also a well-documented fact that piles of bodies were present upon liberation of the camps, well before anyone could have died of being overfed by the same troops who were just then liberating the camps.
