Police have no legal obligation to protect citizens. Their main objective seems to be catching people doing illegal things and making them pay fines to city, county, state, or federal governments. Do these fines actually rectify the "wrong doing" or create any justice? Does the money just inflate an already swollen government?

Most cops are lazy government workers who just want a cush job with benefits and retirement packages. Instead of being a fucking clerk or other useless bureaucrat they want to intimidate people face to face, hand out tickets and put up yellow tape after serious crimes are committed.

I just don't know what to think when I see threads like this. It'd be a lie to say that I've always wanted to be a cop. A position of power - of any form - is the absolute last thing I want. But I want to help people. I want to help form stronger communities. I never received any help from my community, which makes me want to foster connections with it all the more.

We go through like 6 weeks of training with people from gunsite, thunder ranch, and tactical response among others. We can at least hit a vitals sized target at 75 feet 4/7 times and clear malfunctions you'd be sitting there scratching your head at.
