I was looking to see if anyone knew somewhere online that sold that Eagle Industries AOR 1x3 pouch, I mean, I've seen a few on Ebay but they're like $60+. I suppose in a couple of years time, there will be tons of surplus AOR kit.

I might see about try to get the Eagle Industries pouches in some of the more widely available camo patterns.

Very basic IFAK. I got quick clot bandages and tourniquets coming. Along with a new rip away pouch. It would be nearly impossible to grab what I needed from a ouch adhered to my carrier in an emergency situation. It only cost $13 so I'll keep it around and make a secondary rig out of my condor shit.

Very nice. It reminds me of the maxpedition pocket organizer. Which I tried to make a IFAK out of, which was pretty meh. Ended up getting the maxpedition 5 by 7 hook and loop, turned that into one. Pretty roomy inside it.

Still need to get a tourniquet to finish mine off.

I don't live here by choice. There are more guns and gun owners here then in any other state but we get drown out by all the fucking libs and illegals who vote in major cities. I voted against all of the politicians and laws that i was allowed to and have signed all those gay ass petitions. I really can't do anything more but wait for the supreme Court to unfuck it here. Why ?
>>
>>33872135
because ar500 is not a trustworthy company. I own steel plates from them and they said they were rated above level III and they would stop 5.56. That was disproved by several sources and they had to recant and didn't pay to replace the plates with their improved "III+" plates.

They have done several recalls on their plates and steel is not good body armor. It's heavy and it does not have the same level of protection and its not any cheaper then some level IV certified ceramics.

>>33868622
>>33869414
No amped ptts or electret mics were needed. The problem was the Y cable harness. I bought a MSA U94 PTT that broke within 10 minutes of me setting it up and trying to get it to work. The wires pulled out of the NATO connector assembly and weren't even soldered down ( seller was trying to flip a broken PTT). I bought a replacement PTT and the it still didn't work. The received transmissions would come out from the microphone instead of the headset. I figured something must have been wired wrong, since dynamic mics (I'm using a Peltor MT21) will act as speakers if you wire them wrong. Sure enough, I opened up the Y cable harness and used a soldering iron to switch the mic and head set wires (very very easy 5 minute job) and it worked perfectly. For some reason the Y cable harness that I bought had the leads reversed. Transmissions are now crystal clear.

You tried to make a bad joke but only made a fool of yourself.

In all seriousness I actually like the P320. I almost bought one.

>>33875471
Awesome so I just have a couple of questions. A lot of the custom Kydex holster sites don't have all the drop down menu options that I think are necessary for my pistol.

For example I'm going to have tall suppressor sights, and a threaded barrel, and a light, and my model has serrations on the front of the slide that other models don't have.

Also how perfectly fitted do the holsters have to be to have good retention? For example if I order a kydex holster that is meant for my pistol with a threaded barrel and tall sights, but I want to use the holster with another pistol that is the same, minus the threaded barrel and tall sights, will it fit?

It isn't a rig, it is a battle belt with suspenders, but I'm using it as a rig essentially.

ATS battle belt, ATS inner belt, Sternum strap from SKD tactical (really needed it to keep shoulder straps from sliding outwards), GreyGhostGear 2x2 rifle/pistol mag pouch, ATS double stack rifle mag pouch, MSW Baofeng Pouch, HSGI Bleeder/Blowout, ATS nalgene pouch and a tactical tailer Nalgene pouch. Tactical Tailor fight light dump pouch as well.

I should preface this with I've been researching and working with Kydex since '09 but I've never gone as far as investing in streamlining the process with vacuums or buying the assfuckinglyexpensive blue guns.

I'd assume if you email/contact whoever you're looking to buy from they can make a note to add necessary relief for sights; personally I use a tiny copper pipe taped to my 19 to ensure a suitable sight channel which is simple enough. Serrations shouldn't be a problem unless they somehow add width to your slide. A threaded barrel adds another tiny pipe for relief, if you're looking at a closed-bottom holster. Most of mine are open-bottomed for reasons.

A light makes things tricky because it's either an investment on their part to buy said specific light, or make a jig that adds the space needed; so this depends on who you're looking at.

As far as retention goes it'll depend on what style you want and who's making it. Almost all of the holsters I make focus tension around the trigger guard so as long as it's a 19 it'll fit, although I can't think of any style where shorter sights and no barrel protrusion would make a difference in retention.

I could go into style differences but I feel like I'm rambling already.

How's this setup sound?

>Crye OD JPC

>Ceramic Small Plates

>Kydex Kangaroo insert for mags

>A Pistol Mag Pouch Up front

>Crye Multicam Tropic Pants and Shirt for the Terrain Down here in FL

Would you go with more than 3 Mags on body?

Also, is there a quality prebuilt IFAK kit and pouch combo out there?

I know very little about medical attention beyond basic first aid.
>>
>>33868953
For reference my other plate carriers are a Mayflower APC, a Spiritus Systems Slick, and a now-discontinued custom from a guy who works at Snigel Design. The APC does most everything you want a plate carrier to do. The really gucci carriers like the Eagle Aero and the Crye AVS cost so much because of a lot of small refinements and added features that most people won't need. The build quality is fairly comparable between my Mayflower stuff and my Eagle stuff.
>>
>>33877187
Thanks anon, I think I'll pull the trigger on the Mayflower APC soon. Looking at the BFG LMAC as well since it's on sale a few different places, looks like they're discontinuing it or something.
>>
>>33877108
i have 5 mags on my PC 3 is pretty minimal but in the end is a tradeoff for weight. you can mount pouches on the JPC cummerbund webbing.
>Also, is there a quality prebuilt IFAK kit and pouch combo out there?
theyre all ripoffs, BFG for instance sells their medical kits at 2x the price of the individual pieces in them would cost if all bought individually on amazon
>I know very little about medical attention beyond basic first aid.

Damn it seems like that gauze could get infected super fast literally being inside the body.

You do you stop someone from going into shock when you're literally shoving your fingers into a gunshot wound?
>>
>>33877386
lol i saw that set. looks like a solid deal at $250 per plate
>>
>>33877408
the gauze is supposed to be kept in a sterile package, and it's not supposed to stay in there for weeks on end.

as for shock that's not as important as not letting them bleed to death. a femoral artery hit in the groin can't be TQ'd and will bleed a guy out in under a minute, that's the kind of wound you need to pack.
>>
>>33877386
They look single curve
>>
>>33877452
My understanding is that if a wound is minor, to not TQ it, but I'd also be reluctant to pack a wound so violently that I wouldn't TQ.

Is there a middle ground kind of treatment for wounds that are bleeding, but not spurting blood like an arterial rupture?

yes, apply pressure but don't pack it. TQ's and wound packing are really for different situations, but both are for treating life-threatening bleeds. The TQ is for bleeds on a limb, while the wound packing method is used for junctional injuries (groin, shoulder) where the TQ cannot be applied.

Just starting, lemme know what you think.

The purpose of this rig is to
1) Look really cool
2) Have a pc stashed in my vehicle in case of unforseen category 3 chimpout (live next to the third most dangerous city in America)

Geared towards getting into/out of vibrant situations with good mobility, decent protection, and decent ammo for my rifle.

Got a 10 speed triple m4 mag pouch in the mail giving me 6+1 mags for the rifle. Still debating on adding a cummerbund to toss on some mags for my sphinx...probably won't as I want to stay light/may not have my pistol on me/am probably too skinny for the cumberbund to fit well but who knows. I don't always cc so it may be wasted real estate. probably just keep an extra mag in something like this: https://tulster.com/neomag-magnetic-pocket-mag-holder/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwuOHHBRDmvsHs8PukyIQBEiQAlEMW0FjBCHrHjaG81_MA-0K8k7z7d8WK84PPDIV_62OtisMaAnSH8P8HAQ

Gonna add a bfg trama kit now and tourniquet now on the back around 6 o'clock.

Adding tactical shemagh and ordered some more patches for operational variety.

Picking up cermaic plates soon (probably multihit iii+ over a iv - more worried about intermediate cartridges than a mosin nagant from out of the blue). But I'm worried about the heat affecting the plates if I habitually leave them in the car a few hours a day.

That's plenty of rifle ammo.
A pistol reload would be better on the belt your pistol lives on. More than two extra pistol mags is a poor choice on a lightweight rig like this.
Put your IFAK somewhere you can reach it with both hands. I like left hip, but practice and figure out what works for you.
Shemagh is a no. Just...no. That is broadcasting an image you are not backing up and will invite trouble.
Your plates will be fine in the car. I would just go with IVs, but you do you.

Are you really a size small? Small plates are TINY. Make sure you have the right size or you are going to regret wasting your money.

Here's a pair for a really good deal

Turn it inside out and secure the cummerbund. Less of a profile that way.

>>33880036
> probably too skinny for the cumberbund to fit well but who knows

Looks like you're wearing an Eagle MMAC. A cummerbund will fit you fine if you add side plates, plus you'll get the added protection.

>Gonna add a bfg trama kit now and tourniquet now on the back around 6 o'clock.
Do you realize how hard it is to grab something from you 6 o'clock position while wearing armor? Carriers that are set up like that are for people with teammates. This is another reason to get a cummerbund to keep your first aid a little closer.

They're made with Aramid fiber which has a much higher thermal resistance than regular fabrics. Yes, you also can buy flame retardant solution for fabrics, but it won't last long at all through serious use.

They are slightly different. Yes, you can upgrade them for comms with a Y harness and a plug-in boom mic. The Y harness goes for around 120 and the plugin mic goes for around 140. You plug in one of the leads of the harness to the rear port on the headset and the other to the mic. The final lead goes to the PTT.

What's a good manpacked sized radio? Looking for something with better range (consistent 50 miles in less than ideal conditions) and battery life than a handheld. Doesn't need crypto.

Go to your local hamfest and ask them, you can get some really nice yaesu radios that you can load up that arent "im carrying a microwave on my back" tier. If you are too autistic to hang out with ham radio users go buy a ham radio magazine 9/10 pages are advertisements for radios.

Brand new plates dont need an xray, xray check is for a used plate.

when you unload your plates from the box, give them a shake and if you hear what sounds like sand you need to return them .

Here is the back of the helmet which was shot several times rather close together with several calibers. My shitty handwriting on the helmet should let you know exactly what hit but feel free to ask questions.

It depends if you are hitting the dirt all day. 2 years is a good replacement schedule if you are operating hard and going down on them. Keep in mind that these are issued to grunts who probably treat them way worse than you ever will. You will be fine.

Here is another photo of that nasty 12ga BFD and the 5.56 penetraiton near my finger.

This helmet was shot with:
1x 9x18 JHP fired from PM pistol
2x 9x19 124gr NATO spec FMJ fired from Glock 17 and Glock 19
1x 9x19 124gr NATO spec FMJ fired from MP5
1x 45 ACP 230gr "military" FMJ fired from HK Mark 23
2x .357 Magnum 180gr "Heavy Outdoorsman" fired from 4.20" Ruger SP01 pistol
1x 12ga 00 Buckshot high brass "military" fired from Remington 870 28" barrel
2x M193 5.56 from a 20" AUG

All of these shots were performed at near straight on angles (helmet sat on a stump and the shooter took a knee) at 5 meters. It was approx 70F out and at an altitude of 9279ft above sea level.

>>33884501
I doubt the NV shroud did much, the amount of metal is minimal due to weight. Based on the 9mm backforce deformation I think you would be left with one hell of a bruise and maybe a light fracture but you would totally walk away from a 9mm to the head while wearing a IIIA helmet
